Chapter 9: Finally, Chakra Has a Proper Unit!

Inside the sealed space, Naruto, after figuring out how to measure chakra, immediately pulled out a set of redstone lamps from the system.

To avoid affecting the appearance of the area around his villa, he ran over to an open space near Kurama.

He hadn't started remodeling the area around Kurama's cage yet, so it was perfect for setting up an experimental site.

Naruto raised his right hand and carefully placed the redstone lamps on the ground, one by one, forming a square grid.

A hundred redstone lamps faintly glowed with red light in the sealed space, giving off an eerie beauty.

Kurama, seeing the boy's actions, was utterly confused. It had no idea what Naruto was up to.

Just a moment ago, the kid was practicing the Shadow Clone Jutsu. How did he suddenly end up in the sealed space, playing with blocks?

'Could it be… that this kid is slacking off?'

The thought of Naruto falling asleep while refining chakra earlier made Kurama a bit angry.

"Brat, what are you doing?" Kurama's tone was a little stern. If the kid didn't give a good explanation, Kurama felt it was time to teach him a lesson.

After all, it had lowered its pride to guide him, yet this boy didn't seem to appreciate it at all.

"Big fox, I'm doing something that will change the entire ninja world."

"Remember what I said earlier about measuring chakra?" Naruto answered while checking the redstone lamps.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Kurama was baffled, thinking the kid had gone crazy again.

Measuring chakra? Look at Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha, even the Sage of Six Paths—none of them cared about such trivial matters. Did Naruto really think he'd become stronger just by measuring chakra? Ridiculous!

"Stop whatever you're doing and get back to training!" Kurama was quickly losing patience. The kid hadn't even finished his tree-smashing exercises or his Shadow Clone practice, and now he was wasting time here?

It felt like Naruto hadn't listened to a word he'd said.

"Watch closely, big fox!" Naruto placed his hand on one of the redstone lamps and closed his eyes, preparing to channel his chakra.

The lamps began to light up, one by one—first one, then two, then three… until twenty lamps were lit.

Kurama looked at the glowing red lamps with even more confusion, while Naruto jumped up in excitement.

The amount of chakra he had just channeled was roughly the amount needed to perform the Shadow Clone Jutsu once. And this didn't even include Kurama's chakra.

"Twenty lamps, huh?" Naruto muttered to himself. "So that's about the amount of chakra a regular ninja needs to perform one Shadow Clone Jutsu."

But then the question arose… how much chakra did he have in total?

If one Shadow Clone Jutsu equals twenty lamps...

Naruto suddenly gasped. He had never really calculated how many Shadow Clones he could actually create. Just today, in his training, he had already performed the jutsu over 5,000 times, and it hadn't even used up half his chakra. His recovery rate was faster than his depletion.

For the first time, Naruto had a clear sense of just how much chakra he possessed.

"Damn… I really do have tons of chakra!"

Naruto then took out a magic lamp and chandelier to roughly compare the energy ratios with the redstone lamps.

After some calculations, he finally figured out the energy ratios between them:

20 redstone lamps = 1 Shadow Clone 100 redstone lamps = 1 magic lamp 1,000 magic lamps = 1 magic chandelier

Based on this formula, Naruto estimated that his current chakra capacity was somewhere between 80 to 100 magic chandeliers.

In other words, without using Kurama's chakra, he could perform the Shadow Clone Jutsu up to 400,000 times... and that's without considering his chakra recovery rate.

Even Naruto himself found the amount absurd.

Back when he watched the "Naruto" series, he had no concrete concept of how much chakra the Uzumaki Clan possessed. He just knew they had a lot.

And in the original story, the main character never seemed to run out of chakra.

Now, he was finally realizing just how powerful the Uzumaki Clan's chakra reserves were.

"Alright, from now on, I'll measure chakra using magic chandeliers!" Naruto decided. "Hmm... let's call the unit 'magic,' or 'mag' for short."

Naruto looked proudly at the three grids in front of him. He knew he had made history in the ninja world.

Kurama, watching all of this unfold, finally understood what Naruto was up to.

But it still had no respect for Naruto's "100 mag" chakra capacity.

Kurama had tried to calculate its own chakra just now but had nearly fried its brain in the process—it was simply too much to count. The amount of chakra that leaked from it alone was more than Naruto's total.

"Brat, what you're doing is pointless," Kurama scoffed. "For example, you'll never be able to measure my chakra."

Naruto: ...

'Are you even listening to yourself? Do you even know how much chakra you have?'

'Who would waste time measuring your chakra, anyway?'

Besides, this was supposed to help with his own jutsu training. In the future, it might even help him gauge an enemy's chakra.

Although, Naruto thought, measuring an enemy's chakra might be a bit unnecessary. Most enemies he faced probably wouldn't have as much as he did.

"Just wait, big fox! I'll prove to you how useful this is!" Naruto said, leaving Kurama with those words before exiting the sealed space and returning to the outside world.

He stood up, grabbed a stick, and began scribbling on the ground again.

Watching from his crystal ball, the Third Hokage felt another headache coming on.

Earlier, seeing Naruto refine chakra in less than a day had both shocked and thrilled him. Just from the time it took to refine chakra, he could tell the boy was a genius.

This also meant that the future of the Leaf Village would be even brighter.

Moreover, after being taught the Shadow Clone Jutsu, Naruto had stopped focusing solely on taijutsu and had instead started studying the technique intently. That was good news.

However...

What happened next baffled the Third Hokage.

The kid had talent, no doubt about it... but how had he practiced the Shadow Clone Jutsu thousands of times and still not mastered it? Most ninjas would have it down after a few hundred attempts!

Then, he saw Naruto give up on practicing and start writing strange things on the ground, none of which he could make sense of.

'What on earth is going on in that boy's head?'

'Could it be that... he is inventing his own jutsu??'

But why was there a lunch menu scribbled in the corner?

The Third Hokage felt his blood pressure rise sharply.

Meanwhile, Naruto was thinking about what to have for lunch while scribbling calculations on the ground. However, he knew he should master the Shadow Clone Jutsu first.

"Hey, big fox! How's it going?" Naruto asked as he calculated. He had asked the fox to monitor how much of Kurama's chakra leaked out each time he performed a jutsu.

"Make the hand seals, and I'll tell you," Kurama responded.

Naruto nodded, took a deep breath, and recalled the amount of redstone chakra he'd used before. He then began forming the hand seals.

As he did, two distinct streams of chakra—one orange and one blue—surged within him.

"Fifteen redstone chakra units," Kurama said. "Feel it for yourself."

Naruto didn't release the jutsu but instead let the chakra flow inside him, trying to sense the extra bit of Kurama's chakra.

After all, chakra leakage from the tailed beast was something he'd need to get used to. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to master any jutsu quickly in the future.

Kurama's chakra felt completely different from his own. If his chakra was like drinking a glass of water, Kurama's was like taking a swig of hot chili water—unforgettable.

After memorizing the feeling, Naruto opened his eyes and formed the hand seals.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu—"

Poof! Poof!

Two identical clones appeared beside him.

"I did it!!"

Seeing his success, Naruto joyfully grabbed his clones and spun around in a circle.

"Idiot," a strange voice suddenly whispered in Naruto's ear.
