Self and Other—Unity in Duality

To find yourself, you must lose yourself.

Elaboration: Ah, how you chase after the idea of "self"—your identity, your purpose, your desires. But the Mad Mage discovered long ago that in the pursuit of self, one often becomes trapped in illusions and labels. To truly know who you are, you must first lose yourself—in service, in love, in experience. Only when you let go of the search for self can your true essence emerge, unencumbered by the limitations of ego.

 Reflection:

Consider the moments in your life when you were fully immersed in something outside yourself—a passion, a relationship, a cause. How did those moments reveal aspects of your identity that you couldn't find by searching inwardly?
