Chapter 19: Probing Each Other, The Clash

"Interesting... so interesting!" Gojo Satoru grinned as he ripped off the white bandages covering his eyes, revealing his piercing azure orbs, which shimmered with a strange mist.

His gaze locked on Zen'in Mirai's youthful face—a sorcerer only a few years older than his students, with abilities and secrets that intrigued him. A sorcerer who possessed an unregistered special-grade curse, eyes similar to his own, and an intelligent curse like White Zetsu at his side.

Mirai's calm, indifferent expression only fueled Gojo's excitement. The impulse from his high school days, that desire to test his strength against someone new, surged inside him again.

"—Hoo!"

A burst of blue cursed energy emanated from Gojo's hand. The ground trembled as a terrifying gravitational pull erupted from his palm.

Reacting quickly, Yaga grabbed Maki by the collar and leaped away to a safer distance.

In that split second, fallen leaves swirled wildly, filling the air with a deafening rustle. The nearby railings creaked and cracked under the immense pressure.

Gojo glanced at his hand, which remained pressed against Mirai's, yet felt... nothing.

He couldn't help but laugh inwardly, 'How fascinating! Even this level of gravitational pull was ineffective against him.'

Then, with a flick of his wrist—

Boom!

A shockwave exploded from Gojo, sending a blast of force outward. The railings in front of them shattered instantly, the debris scattering far into the distance. The fallen leaves in the air disintegrated into crimson dust, while the ground beneath them cracked, spidering out in all directions.

And yet, Mirai stood there, unmoved.

It was as if he was in another dimension entirely—seemingly present, but unreachable.

Gojo's mind raced. Apart from a few specific techniques—such as Inumaki's Cursed Speech or the anti-curse tool, Inverted Spear of Heaven—most attacks would need to be strong enough to disturb or collapse space itself to break through this defense.

Within seconds, Gojo had analyzed Mirai's technique, aided by his Six Eyes. He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in admiration—Mirai's technique was eerily similar to his own Limitless.

"Gojo Satoru!" Yaga's shout snapped Gojo out of his trance.

Realizing the mess he'd made, Gojo retracted his cursed energy. "Sorry, sorry," he said, though his apology was anything but sincere, which only further irritated Yaga.

If it weren't for the presence of others, Yaga might have been tempted to give Gojo a couple of hard knocks on the head.

Yaga quickly moved forward, pushing Gojo aside and addressing Mirai with genuine sincerity. "I apologize for this trouble. When Gojo sees something unfamiliar, he tends to... act out."

"No need to apologize, Principal," Mirai replied, smiling faintly. "Curiosity is understandable. Especially since Gojo-sensei is still so young, it's natural for him to be a bit impulsive."

"Heh." Gojo paused in the middle of re-wrapping his bandages, a manic grin spreading across his face as his cursed energy began to stir once again.

"Meimei! Please escort Mirai-sensei into the school! Panda, take the students back to the classroom for self-study! It's class time!" Yaga quickly grabbed Gojo and practically dragged him away, issuing commands in a hurry. The last thing he wanted was a full-on battle between Gojo and Mirai right here at Jujutsu High.

Yaga knew Gojo's personality all too well, and Mirai didn't seem like someone who would back down easily. Mirai's earlier calmness? That was all an act. If the two of them started fighting, it would be chaos.

...

Inside the school building, Meimei led Mirai and White Zetsu down the hall to the newly renovated teacher's office.

As they walked, Mirai spoke up casually, "Meimei-san, mind if we exchange contact information?"

Meimei stopped in her tracks, a flicker of surprise crossing her face.

"Whoa, slow down there!" White Zetsu jumped up in mock astonishment, his eyes wide. "That's way too forward, bro! Where'd you learn your pick-up lines? At least start with something like, 'You remind me of someone I know,' or something!"

Mirai shot White Zetsu a look, his expression unimpressed. "One more word, and I'll sew your mouth shut and lock you up for a few more years."

White Zetsu's face paled at the memory of a certain "incident" from the past. "You're unbelievable! Here I am, giving you top-notch advice, and you just throw it back in my face!" he complained before suddenly sprinting off. "Fine, I'll go check on my niece. Don't mind me!"

Ignoring the absurd scene, Mirai pulled out his phone and continued, "There's a business deal I think you might be interested in, Meimei-san."

Meimei raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Business? From the Zen'in family? I'm all ears."

They quickly exchanged contact details before Mirai explained, "Capture a Grade 1 curse alive, and I'll pay ten million yen. For a special-grade... I'll offer one billion."

Meimei's eyes gleamed. "The price is satisfactory, but... transporting a curse isn't exactly convenient. And Grade 1 or special-grade curses don't just show up everywhere."

Mirai smiled. "If curses aren't convenient, then sorcerers will do."

With his Outer Path Gedo Statue's evolution, low-level curses were no longer sufficient to fuel its growth. He needed stronger, more concentrated cursed energy.

After a brief pause, Meimei smiled knowingly. "Deal."

...

Back in the classroom, Panda lay sprawled across his desk, excitedly chatting with the others. "Maki, your brother is crazy strong! Not only did he one-shot a Grade 1 sorcerer, but even Gojo-sensei couldn't break through his technique!"

Inumaki and Yuta both perked up, listening closely.

"If you say that idiot's my brother again, I'll split you in half with this spear," Maki growled, gripping her weapon tightly.

Panda immediately raised his hands in surrender, but before he could apologize, the classroom door burst open with a bang.

"Little Maki! Uncle—uh, I mean, I'm here to see you!" White Zetsu corrected himself hastily upon seeing the murderous glint in Maki's eyes.

He quickly turned his attention to Panda, rushing over with excitement. "Panda! I'm here! Time to cuddle!"

Panda winced as White Zetsu clung to him, dramatically inhaling as if trying to absorb some kind of energy. As much as Panda wanted to punch the curse off of him, he held back.

It wasn't that Panda hated White Zetsu—it was just that, after spending so much time fighting curses, having one cling to him triggered his instincts to attack.

Maki stood up, clearly confused. "Why did Mirai suddenly decide to come to Jujutsu High as a teacher?"

White Zetsu, still hanging off Panda, responded, "Do you really think Mirai's the type to explain anything to me?"

Leaping off Panda, White Zetsu turned toward Yuta and Inumaki, extending a hand. "Nice to meet you! Nice to meet you!"

Yuta, a bit shy but polite, reached out to shake White Zetsu's hand without hesitation. Given his lifelong experience with a special-grade curse like Rika, he wasn't too fazed by White Zetsu's odd behavior.

"Why are you being so friendly?" Maki asked, her tone sharp. "Shouldn't you be heading back to the Zen'in estate? You're just asking to get exorcised if you hang around here."

Maki wasn't being harsh—she was genuinely worried. At the Zen'in household, White Zetsu had Mirai's protection, so no one would dare touch him. But here, at Jujutsu High? A wandering Grade 4 curse could easily be wiped out by any passing sorcerer.

White Zetsu laughed but didn't respond, his strange antics continuing as the students exchanged glances, unsure what to make of their new "uncle."
