Chapter Fourteen

Surprised at the fact that he didn't only leave me all alone on the day of our wedding, but he was also dressed for work today. "Hey, wait," I called out. He stopped in his tracks.

"Where are you going?" I questioned, wondering if he wanted people to know our marriage was a fake. "Aren't you supposed to stay at home?"

He looked at me for a while before replying, "Work." I wondered who gives such a short reply.

"Is there anything else you want to ask?" he asked. I had a lot on my mind, but I decided to keep it in.

"No, I guess that would be all," I said. I walked out feeling upset.

"I'm not allowed to go to work, but he is," I thought. "Since that's the case, I have an idea." I picked up my phone and placed a call to Lily, who excitedly picked up on the second ring.

"Hey, Lily, how are you?" I asked. It felt so good talking to her.

"I'm okay, and you?" she replied. "So, why are you calling me out of the blues? Aren't you supposed to be on your honeymoon?"

"None of that happened, and it's not happening," I said, frustrated. "Alex went to work, so I'm stuck here alone because my dad is handling the company while I'm gone for my honeymoon. It's so annoying and boring."

"So, what do you want me to do?" Lily asked. "You know I'm out of town."

"Oh, about that," I said. "I just booked a ticket to H City, and I'm on my way to the airport."

"You're joking, right?" Lily asked. "Why the hell are you coming here?"

"Let's say I want to help you be your undercover agent," I said.

"You know your dad would stop you from seeing me if he finds out," Lily reminded me.

"Why don't we worry about that later?" I said, directing the driver to where I was going.

"I'll pick you up when you get here," Lily assured me.

"Okay, see you in a while. Bye," I said.

"Bye," Lily replied.

We got to the airport after a few minutes of driving. "Thank you, William," I thanked him before going in to my awaiting flight.

I straightened my face cap and glasses to ensure no one would recognize me. The face mask I was putting on did a perfect job, as no one recognized me even though I was stared at by a few people.

I boarded my plane and was led to a specific VIP first-class suite, which I had specifically paid for. It felt refreshing, thinking about seeing Lily in a few hours and not being stuck at some boring house.

"Lily, I'm at H City. Where are you?" I asked, looking around to check for any sign of Lily.

"I'm almost there," she replied. A few seconds later, Lily's car pulled up in front of me.

"Hey, baby girl," Lily said.

"Hey, love. You kept me waiting," I said, dropping my bag at her feet and entering the passenger seat.

"Who's going to carry this?" Lily asked, but I was unbothered to answer, knowing she would eventually carry it.

The drive was smooth, and she gave me details of who we were to stalk: Payne Field, one of the big shots in H City. They were holding a private meeting for all big shots, and we needed information about the meeting.

We got to the hotel booked by Lily, and it was fancy. I put on my gloves, nose mask, cap, and glasses, which were all black.

"Freeze, let me see your hands," Lily said, faking a gun with her hands.

I raised one hand while using the other to take out my imaginary gun from behind my back. I shot Lily straight in the head, and she feigned death.

I laughed, seeing Lily adjust her dead position to a comfortable one. Her phone rang, alerting us that they had moved to their cars.

"Let's go," Lily said. We both left the room to our car, tailing them to Tipsy Mistress Club.

Our IDs were requested, and we brought out our fake IDs, handing them to the bodyguard. He looked at them while examining if it was us in the pictures.

"Go in," the bodyguard said after handing back our IDs and checking for any possible weapons.

Lily led us to the bar, not far from where they were seated. We took several pictures of them without anyone noticing.

"Let's get closer," I told Lily, who agreed with me.

We both got up and went to the restroom, where we changed our clothes to that of a stripper. I was a vampire nurse, while Lily was a sexy chef. Our costumes ...were beautiful and perfect, matching the theme of the nightclub. Most of the strippers were wearing similar outfits, which made it easier for us to blend in.

We returned to the bar, confident in our new looks. Lily gave me a nod, and we began to mingle with the other strippers, trying to gather more information about Payne Field's activities.

As we worked, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and danger. We were taking a risk by infiltrating the nightclub, but it was also exhilarating to be doing something so bold and daring.

Lily caught my eye, and we exchanged a brief, conspiratorial glance. We were in this together, and we were determined to see it through.

the night wore on, we continued to gather intel, taking photos and making mental notes of everything we saw and heard. It was a thrilling adventure, and I was grateful to have Lily by my side.

But as the evening drew to a close, I couldn't shake the feeling that we were being watched. I glanced around the club, trying to spot anyone suspicious, but everyone seemed to be having a good time.

I leaned over to Lily and whispered, "I think we've got enough information. Let's get out of here."

Lily nodded in agreement, and we made our way to the exit, trying to blend in with the crowd.
