All the girls in the room quickly jump to their feet. "Mr. Parker" Charlotte, Katherine, and Sage all say in unison. Kinda cultist Talia thought

"Keep your seats, girls," he said as he briskly walked into the room." How's it going" he asked all of the girls.

"Fine sir" they all replied.

Mr. Parker walked and stood in front of Nora who looked externally uncomfortable." Nora, I just came to make sure you're going to try your best this year and will have no part in anything that is unexcitable in our household".

"Yes sir," Nora said, looking him in the eyes.

"Good well I have to go please call to let me know if you need anything," he said and walked out. Nora let out a sad sigh. Charlotte broke the silence" Why doesn't he let you do whatever you want"?

"Yeah, why don't you tell him off," Katerine added.

"Oh that's rich coming from you Ms & Ms housewife or better yet lawyer and banker" Nora spoke angrily.

"Fair enough" they both sighed.

"But you need to stand up to him, Nora. Because we all know for a fact you don't want to become a doctor or even a nurse" Charlotte said.

"Yeah yeah, whatever I'll see you guys later" and with that the 3 girls walked out.

After the girls left Nora had picked up an assessment plan she had thrown. Talia started to unpack again. She pulled out a framed picture of her family. Her parents and Josie are close together and Talia is in the back and off to the side.

"So what did you think of my face"

"I'd take him over mine any day" Talia whispered.

"What" Nora asked.

"Nothing," Talia said more clearly.

"Talia, if you're gonna make it around here, you've got to speak up. The meek might inherit the earth, but they don't get into Harvard; know what I mean?" Talia nodded sadly, folding a white button-down Oxford cloth shirt. Nora held the achievement pin in her hand as she spoke. "The bastard!" she shouted suddenly, jabbing her thumb with the metal point of the pin and drawing blood. Talia winced, but Nora just stared at the blood intently. She pulled the pin out and hurled it against the wall.
