Mrs Lim began to rain curses on Abby as to why she would embarrass their family in such a way. How dare she had locked the shoes of someone else in front of the whole school!
" B-but i-i I had no choice, I was forced, it wasn't like I did it willingly!" Abby said, trying to defend her stance in this matter.
But it didn't seem to be working as a red patch appeared on Mrs Lim's cheeks, as her anger boiled even more. She couldn't keep it chained up anymore, and just slapped Abby across the face!
" How dare you say such words to me?! You were forced? How is that any of my business, all I know and want to know is the fact that your dirty tounge touched a more filty shoe, and in front of everyone at that Abby, what did I do to deserve such an unfilial daughter like you?!" Mrs Lim said, crying out to the gods that have granted her such a person as a daughter, she would have been better off being an adpted child that she could throw away later.
" Pfft, hahaha!" Anna who had been watching from the sidelines vould no longer hold her laughter in as she burst out into laughter, along with droplets of tears in her eyes.
" What's so funny about this? If it had happened to you, you would be crying right now, awaiting mother and father to solev the issue, in which they will. But when it comes to me, i'm nothing more than a piece of trash burden. Isn't that right mother?" Abby said, looking at her mother intently.
She couldn't understand why. Why did it had to be her that the world had to turn their backs on? What has she ever done in her entire time of existence that might invoke such hatred from every single person she meets.
"Shut up! How dare you question me Abby? Have you forgotten your place in this household? And as a matter of fact, my lovely daughter here should not be compared to you for she is ten times better than you. Oh, and also, my daughter can never be like you, so easily suppressed by your own peers. What a useless child you are," Mrs Lim said, disgust overflowing in her eyes. She seemed to be having a hard time even looking at this wretched child of hers.
" Why? Why do you keep doing this to me? What have I ever done to deserve all of this hatred?!" Abby said, trying to hold back the tears in her eyes. But it was too late, the tears had already began to flow," y- you act as if I am not your daughter, but some filth you picked up by the side of the road, in which you are now trying to get rid of. Truly, if I am not your daughter, then please tell me. Tell me so that I can leave this place. I can't stand this maltreatment anymore! I can't stand it!!" She added with droplets of tears falling to the ground.
She turned around and ran upstairs with saddness and loneliness filling her heart, but that wasn't why she ran away. The thought of her truly not being her parents child was so scary to her that he was frightened to hear he mother's response. So in such a moment, she couldn't do anything but run away.
*****[ Back downstairs]*****
" Pfft hahahahahah!! I can't, haha, I can't hold it anymore mom, hahahah! Your daughter is pained and hurt, she even ran up crying like a baby!!" Anna couldn't help but laugh at Abby's reaction, it was the exact thing that she had planned. Okay, maybe not exactly as she had expected, 'cause this, this was better than what she had expected.
This time, Mrs Lim didn't respond to Anna, as she stared at the stairs in which Abby had just ran up on a few minutes ago. She seemed a bit pained but still tried to keep a straight and nonchalant expression, but it was a bit difficult.
A drop of tear.
A drop of tear was she'd by Mrs Lim. She didn't understand why, but she felt a bit suffocated. Like someone was holding her throat, and that someone was herself. Her heart felt as if it was breaking into pieces, but for some reason, she still didn't care. It was like she was both feeling hot and cold.
Both sides opposite to each other but at the same time feeling so close. It was like she was put under a spell.
" Oh, and mom, guess what, they've granted our oh so happy Abby a new name," Anna said, breaking the piece of motherly care that Mrs Lim had for her daughter.
She turned to look at Anna and smiled," I don't want to talk about that trash anymore, but then again, I am a but curious, what name was she given?" Said Mrs Lim, as an intruiged exppression washed up on her face.
Anna smiled mischievously," Gutter mouth. She was given the name gutter mouth,"
As those words were said, the two burst out into laughter, as they headed over to the kitchen to have a little meal called dinner.
They didn't call Abby down due to the fact that she wasn't going to come, so why waste third precious saliva. Especially on a worthless fool.
Besides, Abby was skilled in eating leftovers.
*******[ The next morning]*****
" Good morning Anna, hope you had a couple,y night rest?" Mrs Lim said, as she barged into the girls room.
She was a bit surprised to see that they had gotten up since she would be the one to wake them up normally.
She then turned to look at Abby coldly, but this time, Abby didn't care, as she responded to the cold stare with one of her own.
She wasn't wearing her usual baggy clothes today, but instead just wore a nice pink crop top along with some jeans, and honestly, she looked pretty, especially with here hair ties into a ponytail, and her finally putting on some make up. She looked absolutely breathtaking. Actually, she looked unrecognizable.
" Hey, you still haven't responded to my question; are you my actual mother?" Abby said, not starting with the usual greetings.
" I'll answer that question, when you can bring home an armour badge," said Mrs Lim coldly.
Abby did a slight nod with her new ice-cold exppression, and slowly walked out of the room.
Yesterday night, she had realized that the world has truly turned it's back on her, so instead of her endlessly pleading for a bleak future, why doesn't she just stand up and create her own future.
With determination overflowing her eyes, she said while going downstairs.
" Since the world has turned it's back on me, then i, Abby Lim, will turn her back on the world,"
