Chapter 12

I don't know how many times I've released a sigh. I feel awkward in the current situation with Sir Cace.

"Um, do you want to rest?" I asked, looking into the distance. I avoided meeting Sir Cace's eyes. He might suddenly look at me, and something unexpected might happen, just like when we were climbing the mountain.

"I'm fine, Dal," Sir Cace whispered.

I couldn't help but gasp. I immediately looked at Ms. Melissa; another school nurse. She was with us, returning to the large house.

"D-Dal?" I asked, suddenly tightening my embrace on Sir Cace from behind. He's giving me a piggyback ride.

"What? Then, I'll call you Dalha if you don't want me to call you Dal," he replied, looking back at Ms. Melissa. She might hear our conversation with Sir Cace. But it didn't seem so because she was busy fixing her hair.

I didn't respond to Sir Cace's last remark. I remained silent until we arrived at the large house.
