A loud slap greeted me as soon as I entered Uncle Renato's house. I felt the force of it, so I couldn't help but feel pity for Erina, who was the one bearing the slap meant for me.
"Erina!" Estella shouted after the slap.
"Can we stop this already?!" Erina cried out. I quickly pulled her as Estella was about to slap her again. She held my clothes tightly, fear evident in her grip.
"So, now you're defending Erina?" Estella's voice was stern. "First, you wanted to swindle Dad. Next was Cace and Elliott. And now it's Erina?! Won't you ever stop with your ambition to rise?! You're so filthy! You're so vulgar! You have no decency! You have—"
Estella stopped her mocking remarks as I forcefully placed my palm on her face. I was tired of hearing the dirty words coming out of her mouth. I was disgusted by her continuous belittlement of me. They shouldn't try my patience when I'm in this mood.
