Runed core

Aldin pointed out his hand and then activated the array in the core, in almost an instant a shield of light formed around Aldin and a circle of light formed in front of him, once the circle was fully formed a beam of light flame was formed, luckily Aldin had a very strong light shield in front of it that prevented the destruction of the forest around the compound, it did, after all, provide a great aesthetic. He stopped the array before it tore a hole through his light construct. Aldin looked at the crystal and it looked to still have an amount of mana in it.

‘Guess I will have to regulate the output for this, I can improve the shield, and what about growing the crystal with a constant supply of mana,’ Aldin thought. He went back to his lab and did just that, he adjusted the chain to partially wrap around the crystal to be used to power up the core with mana and also adjusted the array to make the shield stronger and the beam smaller and more concentrated.

Once he was done he adjusted it in such a way that he could wear it as a bracelet. Since he was free and full of joy Aldin went and made breakfast for the family, Lark and Sylvia came down and were surprised to find breakfast ready for them.

“What’s the occasion?” Sylvia asked surprised by the breakfast laid out for them.

“Nothing, Just felt like doing this,” Aldin said.

Sylvia was touched by this and had tears balancing at the edge of her eyes.

“You are the best son a mother could ask for,” Sylvia said as she went and hugged Aldin.

As Aldin welcomed the hug Lark was able to see the orb connected to a metal chain on his arm.

“Hey Aldin what is that on your wrist?” Lark asked in all the time he had been with his son, he had never seen him wear jewellery unless it was a magic object and thus Lark was curious what it might have been..

“Oh, this is a little project I was working on,” Aldin said nonchalantly although he was greatly excited by it.

“What does it do?” Lark asked now curious about it.

“It’s a runed core, it just like an array but I do not need to recharge my will in it for it to work,” Aldin said proudly.

Lark was now more confused by what Aldin said, nothing of what he said made sense to him.

“Could we see how good it is?” Sylvia asked letting go of Aldin.

“Sure, but we should have breakfast first before it gets cold,” Aldin said.

“Can we warm it when we are back?,Right now I am more curious about that, please” Lake pleaded with his wife sensing the power in it.’

“Sure, if that is what you want,” Sylvia said

Aldin walked out with them and he did the demonstration and there he confirmed that the modification actually worked.

Lark and Sylvia were on the side, with their jaws literally wide open in surprise.

“In all my days I have never seen anything like this,” Lark said.

“So have I,” Sylvia said.

Lark and Sylvia kept on replacing what had happened in their minds. Aldin was making history in front of their eyes and the only way they could react was by opening their jaws wide open. As they were still standing outside when Ariz walked into the compound.

“What is happening here,” Ariz asked.

“Nothing, I was just showing my parents the project we were working on yesterday and they seemed shocked,” Aldin said.

‘The array on the beast cores” Aldin said.

“Yes,” Aldin said.

“Can I see it?” Ariz asked.

“Sure thing,” Aldin said and gave the demonstration to Ariz, Ariz understood the process behind making it but he now understood its full potential after seeing what I could possibly do.

“It’s brilliant,” Ariz said.

After the second demonstration, Lark and Sylvia snapped out of it and finally noticed the arrival of Ariz.

“Hello Ariz, what brings you here?” Sylvia asked with a smile on her face

“I have a lesson today with Aldin,” Ariz said with a smile on his face.

“Why don't we head inside for breakfast right now,” Lark, was a bit curious as to why the two were smiling, he was terrified at what he was seeing.

‘At this point Aldin might even be labelled a national threat.’ Lark thought to himself.

‘At the least I hope Leon can protect him when the time comes.’ Lark thought to himself as they got back into the house.

Aldin warmed all their food as they ate it. Later on Lark and Sylvia left.

When they went down to the lab Aldin created a cuboid pillar and showed Ariz how to make the array as he made a second one, also giving him the tips he had learnt, they both placed crystals on their pillars and Aldin added another one on his initial pillar. Now there were three pillars for his crystals.

As they gained more mass, Aldin took two other crystals to show Ariz how to make the array ords, after Aldin showed him, it was Ariz’s turn to try it out.

Drawing the runes on it was a bit tough as they had to be precise but in the end he was still able to make one, he used one of a wind attributed beast and, they went outside to test it out and he found himslef with an air blade shield to protect the wielder and air bullet or a whirl wind for attacks, this was becasue he used Aldin’s for a refrence.

‘How is he able to do all ths without even breaking a sweat,” Ariz thought to himslef in shock.

“Since we are done with this, I will show you the final refinement method and you can be able to do it on your way,” Aldin said.

They went back to the lab, Aldin prepared him an array around him and gave him instructions on what he would be doing.

As he was refining his body, ALdin was at his desk thinking through all he had learnt within the week, he was drawing up ideas on how he could use all that he had learnt to make something new.

After a long period of time of thinking he was unable to find anything substantially worth while to, he checked on Ariz’s condition before he left for his room to grab another book he could read.

He read through them, most of them contained infromation he was familiar with but served to remind him of what he may have forgotten and also helped him get the details of all he had been studying.

That was until he got to the books on runes, the books was extremely old such that it’s pages were all yellow and dust was trapped within it’s pages.

As he looked at the book he could fell that it exuded a sense of power.

“When he opened what he met before him was a rune, that covered the whole page, as ALdin looked at it he felt drawn to it an ket on staring at the rune, after several minutes he still felt nothing out of it but he was drawn to it, he kept staring, he then sensed Ariz was done downstairs, he went down where he found him getting up.

Aldin wiped off the array.

“Was it productive?” Aldin asked him curious of progress.

“I think so, it will take sometime to get fully adjusted to it though,” Ariz said.

“Good, then, I will not be abale to meet you in the following days, when I am ready i will call you,” Aldin said.

“Then I will take my leave master,” Ariz said bowing, from what he had learnt from Aldin he felt more than inclined to bow to Aldin.

“Okay, and while I am busy do not forget to practice all i have taught you, the knowledge I have shared with you is not the end, It is up to you to work on it and improve yourself,” Aldin said.

“I will not disappoint you,”Ariz said and left for his castle.

Aldin went back to his room and took the book again, he went back to staring at the book, he was not fighting the urge to read it but I was not fully falling under its control, he looked at the book for a couple of hours before he finally let go of it.

‘I’ve been sitting here for hours looking at that rune.I fell something at the back fo my mind when I look at the picture but I cant really place my finger on it,’ Aldin thought to himself.

Tired of sitting there Aldin hoped into the shower to have a quick shower. The shower was anything but short, Adin stayed in the shower for a long time, as he was in the shower the steam in the air covered his whole body and the light in the room disappeared, Aldin though could still see very well in the mist.

His mind was still on the rune he had just seen and he could not take his mind off of it. When he got out of the shower he got dressed and went into the woods for a stroll, he had the rune on his mind and he could not get it off. He would meet beast once in a while but they woud all die before getting to him.

‘I need to know about it,’ Aldin thought to himself.
