Chapter 2: "A Night Out"

Kinavieve (Kina)

I woke up feeling like a queen, but the exhaustion was real. Dealing with people like Rubie daily was draining. I needed a break, a night to forget about work and unwind. Today, I wanted to spend time at the club, show off my moves, and maybe even find someone to take my mind off things. I'll go to work, and when Kim is back, I'm going out tonight.

Later that day, I finally left work and headed home. I changed into my cherry red shoes and matched them with my red mini dress. I passed by the mirror and glimpsed my face. Oh my God, what the hell is this? I need a wig. I grabbed my wig from last summer and put it on. In ten minutes, I was ready. I wore makeup that beautifully matched my clothes, and my expensive fragrance, a gift from my ex-boyfriend, completed the look. I was stunning, and I knew it.

I walked to the club, close to my apartment, and didn't intentionally steal the spotlight. But let's be real, I always steal the spotlight. "Who's she?" I heard them whispering despite the loud music. "That's Kina." A voice whispered back. I went to the bar and ordered a cocktail, making sure to flaunt my assets as I leaned in.

Jane joined me, and we chatted. I complemented her, and she returned the compliment. We talked about her writing and my modeling career. I couldn't help but brag a little about my latest shoot. I mean, have you seen my Instagram? I'm a star.

As we sipped our drinks, a tall, handsome man approached the bar. "Let me take care of this," he offered to pay the bill. My attention was drawn to him. "I'm Jamal," he said. "Jane." "Kina." He liked my name, and I could tell Jane was ignored. I got up and slowly walked to the bathroom, hoping he was watching me. Yes, he was, and so was everyone else, including Jane, who was jealously watching me.

I took my time in the bathroom, making sure to touch up my makeup and hair. When I came out, Jamal was waiting for me. "You're stunning," he said. I smiled, knowing I was. We talked for a bit, and I found out he was a model too. How convenient.

As the night went on, we danced and laughed together. I was having the time of my life. Rubie and work were the last things on my mind. Jamal was charming and handsome, and I could tell he was interested.

But then, Jane had to ruin it. "Kina, I think we should go," she said, clearly jealous of the attention I was getting. I rolled my eyes. "No, Jane, I'm good. I'll catch up with you later." Jamal offered to walk me home, and I accepted.

As we walked, he told me more about himself. I listened intently, pretending to care. Let's be real, I was only interested in one thing. And that thing was not his personality.

When we got to my apartment, he leaned in to kiss me. I let him, and it was... decent. Not the best I've ever had, but decent. I invited him in, and we continued the night.

The next morning, I woke up feeling satisfied. It was just what I needed - a night to forget about work and Rubie. And maybe, just maybe, I'd found someone to keep me company for a while.
