"Dammit," he muttered under his breath. "Can't they keep some real food around?"
As he turned a corner, he nearly collided with Gwen. The petite vampire grinned up at him.
"Watch it, meat bag," she chirped.
Kazuo stepped back. "Sorry about that. Hey, you wouldn't happen to know where the pantry is, would you? I'm starving."
"Aw, is the little human hungry? How cute," she giggled. "Down the hall, take a left, then two rights. Can't miss it."
"Thanks," Kazuo said, already moving past her. He paused, turning back. "Uh, one more thing. Where can I get some change? I assume you've got vending machines or something."
