Chapter 89

Xavier trudged through the crowded college halls, his massive frame towering over the swarm of students. Holographic displays flickered along the walls, advertising upcoming events and classes.

Every passerby gawked at his imposing figure. Some whispered behind their hands, others quickened their pace. He ignored them all, scanning the sea of faces for his target.

A professor droid glided up to him. Its frame was covered in scratched titanium plating, and its three optical sensors followed Xavier's every move with glowing blue lights against the robot's faceplate. Various maintenance stickers were stuck onto its chest, some peeling at the edges and others completely faded away.

"Greetings, sir. Do you require assistance?" Its voice was a silky purr.

"Yeah, I'm looking for a kid named Guy Pasteur."

The droid's optical sensors whirred. "Ah yes, him. Monsieur Pasteur is currently in the quantum mechanics lab on the third floor, east wing."
