Chapter 146

"Fuck," Will muttered. "I thought that would keep him down longer."

The werewolf dropped to all fours and charged, closing the distance in seconds. Will fired, but Nakamura dodged between the shots with surprising agility.

"Move!" Gwen shouted.

But it was too late. Nakamura leapt and slammed into Will with bone-crushing force. They tumbled over the edge of the roof and plummeted toward the ground below, crushing the entire half of the building with them.

Gwen sprinted to the edge and peered down. She caught glimpses of fur and flailing limbs as they crashed through scaffolding and awnings.

"Shit," she hissed, then vaulted over the edge, using her katana to slow her descent as she slid down the building's facade.

When she reached the ground floor, Will and Nakamura were already back on their feet. Only the werewolf's jaws were snapping inches from Will's face as pushed it's face away from him.
