Mike and Harry's enlistment

The next day, after school, Hannah took Amy to the Big Ben tower, which was two streets up from house theirs, so, as it was very close, they went on their bicycles, stopped at the tower and talked

— So, what did you think yesterday when Mike talked about enlisting? — Hannah asked.

— Well it was kind of unexpected, he told me he wanted to but he didn't tell me he would go with complete certainty! — Amy replied.

— What is this in front? two boys fighting?! — said Hannah with wide eyes.

— It's Mike and Joe! Because they are fighting?

— Well, on May 5th Joe was liking a girl named Katty, and Mike also liked her and when she found out she started liking him

— But she liked Joe?

— Yes, but Mike drew more attention to her, she spoke to him every day after school, but that all ended when his parents had to move to Liverpool and then Mike did the same thing.1

— What thing?

— Pretending that nothing happened and being the friend from before, but when Mike went to apologize that he clearly didn't have an ounce of regret, Joe punched him in the face that even bled and then it was like that whenever they see each other it's a fight.

Amy walked up to them and stood in the middle and said to Mike

— Apologize to Joe!

— What?!

— Apologize now!

— No?! — said Mike confused.

— It wasn't a request! — said Amy raising her voice.

— Joe has to apologize first!

— Well why?! You didn't start all this first, with Katty?!

— I didn't know! — said Mike trying to explain himself.

— But if you knew, it wouldn't matter, would it? — said Joe.

— You know what, no! it wouldn't go! — Mike replied angrily.

— Okay, but it seems like you knew! — said Amy, Mike

frowned at the moment.

— But I... — he tried to explain.

— Okay, I'm sorry! — said Mike.

— I'm... sorry! — said Joe.

— Great! — said Amy and continued to say for Mike.

— I'm sorry to tell you but I doubted you would do that, it's

serious most wouldn't do that! — said Amy for Mike.

Amy went to Hannah to get her bicycle and leaving the tower Hannah asked

— What did you tell them?

— To make amends, and I achieved! — Amy replied.

— You it achieved?! how?

— I don't know, I admit that I was surprised!

— And I certainly stayed, let's go, I'll show you my favorite tree!

Hannah and Amy went on their bicycles and they went up to a tree under the street, where they were

— Hannah, have you crossed that bridge yet? — Amy asked.

— Yes, of course than already!

— What's on the other side?

— The east side, called bridge of Lambeth, there are places of houses like here — and Hannah kept saying.

— You know, it's much better with you here, before I didn't have anyone to play with and laugh with...

— But what about Mike and Harry?

— They do it but, just the two of them, they're older and say, what they're going to do I can't!

— They don't seem to be overprotective.

— They don't are most of the time! — Hannah jumped out of the tree and got on her bicycle and said.

— Let's walk more in the city?!

— Okay! — Said Amy and then jumped out of the tree, while they were riding their bicycles Amy asked Hannah

— And our cousins?

— Are living in Paris! — replied Hannah.1

— Paris?!, how chic!

— We go every January and stay until February this time you're going with us!

As they cycled through town it started to drizzle so they went home they got there five o'clock in the afternoon it only took a

minute for Jack to arrive, he has a maid who goes there all five thirty to cook dinner and clean the house, when she left their house, they went to dinner

— So, are you enlisting tomorrow? — Jack asked.

— Yes! — Mike replied.

— Maybe, I don't know, I think I need to think more! — said Harry hesitantly.

— Are you going to give up now Harry? — Mike asked.

— That's not it... what if we are summoned?— said Harry.

— But isn't that what you're signing up for? — Mike asked.

— Perhaps... the Air Force is very different from the Navy!

— You're right, but if you're a real soldier, you won't be afraid of being drafted! — said Mike.

— Don't worry Harry has tomorrow until seven in the morning to decide! — said Amy.

— I think this is the enough! — said Harry.

After dinner Amy before bed wrote her diary

Dear Diary:

Tomorrow my brothers will enlist...
