Salvation Episode 1

Kana walked slowly through the school, not very eager to reach his next class.

A girl approached him, smiling and excited, far too much for him to handle alongside his dread.

"Hey! I'm Veronica!

Would you like to join our school club?!

We're having a welcome party for new members later on, so show up, okay?

She handed him an invitation letter before he even got a chance to answer and bolted away.

He sighed deeply and stopped to read the invitation letter, noticing it would be at night, when the school was closed.

"At this point.. I have nothing better to do.."

Kana said to himself dreadfully as he went to class.

Kana didn't have many friends and wasn't very excited about life in general, so he decided that he would attend the welcome party, thinking it would at least be something new.

He stared at his phone hour after an hour from the time he got out of school and went home and laid in bed waiting to go.

When the time finally arrived, he got dressed and headed to the school at 10 PM, arriving at the time specified in the letter.

Veronica let him and all of the other students through the back of the school and into a room with some decorations that looked poorly set up.

"Alright!! Now that we're all here, let's have a celebratory drink to celebrate the new members of the club!!"

She handed Kana and six of the other students drinks, and they all took a sip when Veronica did, so they wouldn't be rude.

They all quickly realized it was a mistake when they all fell one by one, passing out.

"What did you.."

Kana said drowsily as he fell last.

When they all slowly came back to consciousness, they saw Veronica with a whole new demeanor in her look.

Unlike the excited, happy girl she was before, she looked very angry.

"You all are such fools.

How could anyone be so naive as to drink something from someone they don't even know?"

Veronica said to them pridefully.

Kana slowly opened his eyes and looked around the room as he realized him and all the other students were bound on tables, their hands and feet being tied to them.

"Hey! What is this?! You can't do this! Let us go now!"

One of the students screamed loudly at Veronica.

Veronica pulled out a knife and cut the wrists of the one who was previously yelling at her, and she collected the blood in a chalice of sorts.

"Hey!.. What are you doing to her! Stop it!"

Kana screamed out as he struggled against his restraints.

Veronica laughed and continued onto each student, slicing both of their wrists each, collecting their blood.

She went to Kana last, and she cut him even deeper than the rest.

He screamed out in agony and grit his teeth.

"You're going to pay for this..! I'll kill you!"

Kana screamed at her hatefully as she smiled malevolently while walking away with all of their collected blood in the chalice she held.

Now, you will all be sacrificed to my gods, and they will take over your bodies, which I chose for that purpose.

Veronica said as she held the chalice in front of her, beginning to chant.

"Arise from your slumber and devour all that is offered to you; Azrael, Leviathan, Asmodeus, Barachiel, Amon, Abaddon, and Lucifer, fallen star of the morning!"

The chalice fell from her hands, spilling blood all over the floor as she began to scream and writhe in agony.

Horns like a ram exploded from her head, ripping out of her flesh, her body became like an animal, with the fur of a goat, and her skin became dark, her eyes became black.

She no longer had the appearance of a human, but something like a demon.

The students screamed and called down curses upon her while they trembled against their restraints in fear.

"There is more to this world than I thought..

But this isn't what I wanted..

I wanted more in life, a purpose, meaning.

But not whatever hell this is."

Kana thought to himself as he gave up.

Each student passed out from blood loss, Kana being first since his cuts were deeper than the rest.

Kana was surrounded by darkness, and nothing was to be seen when he looked.

His heart began to race, and he started to panic frantically as he knew he was close to death.

"No, no, no.. please no.. don't let this be it.

I haven't gotten over the fear of not existing yet..

I'm not ready!..

Please!..

He tried to see, but there was nothing.

He tried to call out, but he could not speak, for he had no mouth.

He tried to reach out, but his arms were not there.

He tried to run, but he had no legs, for he had lost them to the shadows.

He screamed in his consciousness because he couldn't actually.

He stopped when he felt something grab his hand that was now there again, something like light held onto him.

He looked around, and his body was whole again.

He felt no more panic, but only peace.

"What.. is this feeling?.."

He saw a light above him and he called out to it.

"Who.. are you?.."

And the voice spoke to him.

"I AM"

Said the voice, sounding like thunder and trumpets.

His being shook, and he had a revelation in his mind, of Truth.

The voice showed him the gospel of his salvation.

"If you truly can save me from this darkness, I will give you my life.."

His eyes quickly opened up, and he gasped deeply as oxygen filled his lungs.

He grunted loudly and tore from his restraints, no longer being bound by them.

He stood up from the table and didn't even realize his wounds were healed before he rushed towards the demon who was about to devour another student.

He reached out by instinct, and a sword with a red glowing edge appeared in his hand, and he sliced off one of the arms of the demon.

"Like I said before, I'm going to kill you!"

The demon dropped the student and reached out his hand towards Kana, shooting out a ball of dark energy towards him, blasting him far back to the wall, breaking it and making him to be on the outside of the school.

Kana grunted and struggled to breathe as he laid down on the grass outside of the school.

He couldn't move because of his broken ribs, so he held out his sword in desperation as the demon prepared to shoot another ball of energy.

He closed his eyes, bracing for impact if he couldn't block the attack.

"Don't worry, kid, we'll take it from here!"

The deep voice came from what sounded like a man.

Kana opened his eyes and saw a man standing in front of him with a big dark shield, blocking the attacks from the demon with ease.

"Huh?.. Who are you?"

Kana said in confusion as he just thought he was going to die again.

Cassiel: "My name is Cassiel! I already know it's nice to meet me, so save your breath. Fight's not over yet!"

"Althea, go heal the other students, then come get this guy!"

Althea: "Right!"

She ran in the building to heal the injured students as the demon pointed towards her to attack her instead.

A bright blue flash of lightning struck towards the demon, and a man could be seen with his fist against the arm of the demon as his attack was blocked.

"Huh!? There's no way that did no damage to this guy. Tanks are broken!"

He said, surprised and disappointed.

He also noticed one of the demon's arms was cut off.

(How could anyone do damage to this thing, and I couldn't even put a scratch on him...)

Cassiel: "This isn't a video game Dazel... Maybe you just didn't hit him hard enough!"

Dazel punched the demon quickly, over and over, but seemed to do no damage.

The demon kicked him, and he flew to the side as the demon prepared to fire an attack at Althea again as she healed the injured.

Three more people showed up; a man in a dark cloak, a girl in something like a nuns attire, and another woman.

The man in the dark cloak walked towards the demon slowly, and the demon aimed towards him instead, not firing immediately but continuing to charge his attack.

"As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age."

As the demon began to fire his charged ball of energy, the man in the cloak summoned a scythe and instantly sliced through the demon, spiritual looking energy could be seen radiating off of his scythe and the arc of the slice.

"Reap."

The demon exploded into a dark fire and turned to ash, falling to the ground like dust.

"Now then, who exactly are you, sword boy?"

Kana was healed last by Althea, so at this time, he was fully healed.

He looked around and wondered who the dark cloaked guy was talking about and realized it was him.

Kana: "Oh!.. I'm Kana! Nice to meet you all?.."

"My name is Harvest. We are the six virtues, opposites of the seven deadly sins, anointed by God as to grow in strength and defeat those sins."

Kana: "Seven deadly, huh?.. If there are seven of them, how is it fair that there are only six of you to defeat them?"

Harvest looked at the others, and they also looked at him, then at Kana.

Harvest: "You may be the seventh virtue."

Kana jumped up from the ground, looking extremely confused.

Kana: "Huh!? Me? How am I supposed to defeat some demon deadly seven sins or whatever you call them? I'm literally a high school student!.."

Harvest: "When you received those powers and that sword, did you not accept the gospel given to you?"

Kana: "Well.. Yes, I did. I offered to give my life - oh.. I guess that makes sense why I would be chosen for such a task."

Harvest: "We don't know one-hundred percent yet, but so far, we're the only ones who have powers like these.

We've only just met recently ourselves, so it's as if God is bringing us all together pretty fast.

That's why I'm pretty sure all of us believe you are the seventh virtue.

Kana: Right. Well, I trust in God since he saved me from that darkness, so I will follow you all and take this path, if it is the one that He chose for me.

Harvest: Very well, come to the church with us, and we will tell you more.
