**Chapter 248: The Deepest Love**
"Ouch, it hurts so much… Ouch…"
Yu Xiaolong, who had been lying motionless on the ground, suddenly groaned and clutched his head.
His words left Yu Yuanzhen, Yu Luomian, and his wife utterly stunned.
As Yu Xiaolong sat up, a tearful young woman threw herself into his arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
"This is wonderful, Xiaolong! You're awake! You're finally awake!"
Yu Xiaolong held his wife gently, trying to comfort her. "Don't cry, dear. I'm fine. But… where am I?"
He glanced around, noticing the chaos—wounded people and burning buildings everywhere. Seeing his father and uncle nearby, he quickly nodded at them.
"Father, Uncle, what's going on? Where are we? Why is everything in ruins?"
A strange emptiness caught his attention, and he looked down at his right leg. His face twisted in shock.
"My leg! What happened to my leg? Where is it?"
He stared at the stump in disbelief. "Can someone please tell me what's going on?"
Yu Yuanzhen knelt beside his son, his voice trembling with a mixture of relief and concern.
"This is a long story, Xiaolong. How are you feeling? Does your head hurt?"
"My head?" Yu Xiaolong touched his temples. "It feels fine, just a bit of a headache. But why is my leg gone? And… where is my second brother? Has he returned?"
Yu Xiaolong had no memory of the past five years. The last thing he recalled was going with his younger brother to confront Zhao Ling and being beaten senseless. Now he was home, but everything seemed different.
His father and uncle looked older, and his wife… she seemed more mature, yet her tears brought back a flood of emotions. Strangely, his body felt tense, as if he had been deprived for years.
Yu Yuanzhen scowled at the mention of his second son. "Don't ask about him. That disgrace has caused enough trouble for this family."
He thought bitterly of the dungeon and the excuses his younger son had made to avoid marrying his eldest daughter-in-law. In hindsight, he felt fortunate his son had refused.
With Xiaolong awake, the family's honor and lineage could be preserved. It was as if the heavens themselves had intervened.
Meanwhile, the family elders worked tirelessly to extinguish the fires. The injured disciples, many of whom had been saved by Patriarch Ye's healing abilities, rested amid the ruins.
Despite these efforts, the loss of over a hundred lives weighed heavily on the clan.
To prevent further unrest, Yu Yuanzhen personally visited the affiliated families, offering goodwill and benefits to maintain their allegiance.
But his efforts weren't enough to quell their fears. Having endured two devastating attacks in succession, many affiliated families considered leaving the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Rex family.
In light of the situation, Yu Yuanzhen and the elders convened a meeting. Rebuilding the family in Tiandou Imperial City would require significant resources and might leave them vulnerable to further attacks.
After much deliberation, they decided to relocate to a more defensible, remote location—ideally near the Haotian Sect, the only remaining allied clan among the three great sects.
Yu Yuanzhen hoped the Haotian Sect would not align with Zhao Ling in the future. While the sect's pride and strength made them unlikely to ally with anyone tied to Spirit Hall, the possibility lingered in his mind.
Four days later, in Zhao Ling's mansion, Tang Wutong sat in the courtyard, bored and playing chess. Her eyes lit up as she saw Zhao Ling emerge from the room, looking refreshed and confident.
She quickly ran to him, throwing herself into his arms with a sweet smile.
"Husband, did you punish them properly? You didn't go easy on them, did you?"
Zhao Ling smirked. "Of course not. If I let them off easily, they might think they can get away with it again."
Tang Wutong clapped her hands in delight. "That's my husband! You're the best. Mom and Grandma deserve it. Next time, make sure you're even tougher on them!"
"I'll keep that in mind," Zhao Ling replied, nodding thoughtfully.
Inside the room, the four women sat in awkward silence, their faces pale.
"Xiaoqi… that brat is fanning the flames again," Xiao Wu muttered bitterly.
"Traitor," Ah Rou grumbled.
The four exchanged frustrated glances. Sooner or later, they vowed, they would show that cheeky child what it meant to experience the deepest love of her elders.
