I haven't read the story yet, but considering you're the author of two great stories, I'm going to give you a vote of confidence once again, I'm not very well versed in George R.R. Martin's books, but I hope I can get a good enough direction from wikis and information from history itself.

A good novel, although developed in a way that could have been better, I was about to abandon it because of the attitude of the protagonist that I did not share. I would have liked him to be a little stronger in spirit, to have more dignity, to be someone more focused. Even though he is strong, he sometimes acts in a shameful way. But hey, this is a good novel.
