Chapter 31: Tiger poison does not eat its seeds

Lin Fengmian returned to Liu Mei's room. She lay on the bed with her clothes half undone, her long, slender legs intertwined seductively.

He paid no attention and collapsed back onto the bed like a corpse.

"Why so down? Want me to cheer you up?" Liu Mei, as understanding as always, was quick to start removing her clothing.

"Alright, enough. You're not even daring enough to suck my energy, so stop playing around," Lin Fengmian said lazily.

Liu Mei shot him a glance before leaning in with a mischievous smile. "Who says I wouldn't?"

Lin Fengmian gasped in shock. "Are you serious?"

"Of course. Why would I lie?"

Liu Mei got to work, showing Lin Fengmian the true meaning of a silver tongue. Her movements were expert, her lips as soft as petals, leaving no room for shallow conversation, only deep understanding.

Lin Fengmian instinctively reached for something to hold onto, realizing that not only was she skilled with her tongue, but also impressively endowed, with a bosom that was far beyond what he had anticipated. It was impossible to fully grasp, both figuratively and literally.

He resigned himself to his fate, but Liu Mei seemed determined to push things further, as if on a pilgrimage for enlightenment.

With no other options, Lin Fengmian had to demonstrate some "tough love" and give a hands-on lesson, leaving his feelings quite clear.

...

To his surprise, she hadn't drained any of his energy. It had been all skill, no sorcery.

When Lin Fengmian entered a state of post-clarity, Liu Mei, like a mermaid, slid up beside him and swallowed hard, wrinkling her nose.

"Disgusting," she murmured under her breath.

"If it's so bad, why did you eat it?" Lin Fengmian asked, incredulous.

"How would I know? I've never done this before." She gave him a playful look. "Want to take my first kiss?"

Lin Fengmian wasn't buying it for a second. "No thanks, even a tiger doesn't eat its own cubs."

"You're such a tease!" Liu Mei pouted and then chuckled softly. "Feeling better now?"

"Why didn't you drain my energy?" Lin Fengmian asked, his voice more serious.

"I don't want to die," Liu Mei replied with a sly smile.

"Then why did you do it in the first place?" Lin Fengmian was curious.

"Maybe I was just craving it. Doesn't that fit your image of a wicked temptress from the Hehuan Sect?" She teased.

"It does," Lin Fengmian admitted, not wanting to dig deeper into her motives. After all, trying to understand a seductress's thoughts was a fool's errand. Exhausted, he fell into a deep sleep.

As he drifted off, Liu Mei reached out to gently caress his handsome face, her eyes filled with complicated emotions, lost in thought.

The next morning, Liu Mei's soft voice woke him. She was already fully dressed, her delicate face framed by her flowing hair. Lin Fengmian broke into a cold sweat—what had he done last night? Was he insane?

What was worse, he had dared to "teach a lesson" to this wicked temptress!

Seeing his expression, Liu Mei laughed. "Don't worry. I'm not going to eat you."

"But you already did," Lin Fengmian muttered under his breath.

Liu Mei gave him a playful look. "Want to go again? I've got other moves I haven't used yet."

"No, thanks!" Lin Fengmian forced a smile.

"How heartless! After all the effort I put into serving you," Liu Mei pouted before sitting down at her dressing table to comb her hair. She was fully dressed now, and if it weren't for the revealing outfit, she might have looked like a virtuous woman.

"Come here, help me brush my hair. Or else, I won't be so nice next time." She smiled dangerously, licking her lips.

Lin Fengmian reluctantly walked over, standing behind her. From above, he could see the deep, unfathomable ravine beneath her clothes.

Now that he'd experienced it firsthand, he knew just how overwhelming it was—impossible to control or measure!

Once she finished dressing, Liu Mei put on a completely different outfit. This time, she was dressed like a Daoist nun, her curvaceous figure fully covered. Despite the conservative robe, her body still oozed allure, making her even more enticing.

"Sister, what's with the outfit?" Lin Fengmian asked, puzzled.

"I belong to you now. I've decided to leave my wicked ways behind and walk the righteous path. From now on, I'll accompany you with a pure heart," Liu Mei said, her face serious.

"Speak plainly."

Lin Fengmian realized that although this woman was unpredictable, he no longer feared her as he once did.

"We're going to scam people. I can't exactly dress like a woman of ill-repute, can I?" Liu Mei laughed.

So, they know their outfits were improper after all?

Lin Fengmian glanced at her full figure barely concealed by the Daoist robe, his mouth twitching slightly.

"But this still seems a bit off," he muttered.

"Like it? If you do, I can serve you in this outfit later." Liu Mei's voice dripped with seduction.

Lin Fengmian swallowed hard. He had to admit, the idea was tempting.

His involuntary reaction made Liu Mei burst into laughter, her charm causing Lin Fengmian to stiffen slightly in respectful recognition.

When they set out, Lin Fengmian noticed that not just Liu Mei, but all the other women had also donned proper outfits.

Chen Qingyan wore a simple Daoist robe, paired with her sword. She looked like a true celestial being, so pure and elegant it made others forget the world around them.

Xia Yunxi, with her innocent face, looked even more adorable in her blue and white outfit, resembling the pure little junior sister Lin Fengmian had always imagined.

For her, this was a role she could play perfectly.

Wang Yanran and Mo Ruyu, however, couldn't quite match up. Their outfits were modest but unremarkable.

Wang Yanran, always known for her gentle and knowledgeable demeanor, looked perfectly fine. But Mo Ruyu, who had always dressed provocatively, seemed awkward in her ill-fitting clothes.

Being shorter, the oversized outfit swallowed her up, hiding her usual charm, and she lost her usual seductive aura.

Some of the "chives" (followers) seemed disappointed, unable to recognize Mo Ruyu in her current form.

"Senior sister, with your height, this is just unfair!" Mo Ruyu pouted as she glanced jealously at Liu Mei's curvaceous figure, still evident under her loose robe.

Liu Mei chuckled. "Blame your height, then. Your clothes don't fit."

"Don't worry, you're just flying under the radar now," Wang Yanran joked.

The "chives" were too distracted by the women's new appearances to notice the absence of Xie Gui.

Liu Mei explained to them that Xie Gui had come in the middle of the night to resign, unable to let go of his attachments to the mundane world, so they had allowed him to leave.

The "chives" knew Xie Gui had been struggling, so they believed the story.

Whether they truly believed it or not didn't matter—at least on the surface, they all pretended to accept it. What they thought deep down was anyone's guess.

As they set out, Chen Qingyan instinctively reached out, ready to lead Lin Fengmian by the hand.

"No need, senior sister. I'll try to walk on my own," Lin Fengmian said politely, avoiding her gaze.

After what had happened the previous night, Lin Fengmian felt an instinctive aversion toward Chen Qingyan.

Maybe it was just his own unfulfilled expectations, but the deeper the hope once was, the greater the disappointment now.
