Wendy slitted her eyes, I could see the suspicion marked on her lips. After many seconds later she opened her mouth ready to speak her mind.
Like the gift she had been, alleviating my tired soul. Melody, the sweet girl, several feet behind Wendy raised her hand.
Ugh, my heart!
"Yes, Melody, you know someone!" I jump up from where I was seated. Effectively cutting Wendy off from what ever lecture she had brewing on the tip of her tongue.
All eyes now on Melody.
"I er…" She looked back and forth between me and Wendy. Deciding which one of us was the 'safer' person.
Melody, my dear, I chided internally, none of us were, if truth be told. I sure as heck was not even remotely sane. Knowing that I had to replan my whole preconceived notion of how this world worked and how I should go about it.
"Well?" I pushed. " Well, Miss, may I ask why would you want to know of someone stronger then your finace the prince?"
Damn Melody, you failed me.
