Phanuel tilted her head, confused by such a statement. "Why would you ever want to associate with bandits and criminals? Even if he had a reason for resorting to crime, he still did it."

"They would still be part of my kingdom. I would have it no other way. He could be used an example as what not to do, but I would still want to know more about my people, all of them, such as each one of you."

He raised his hand to his chest, glowing ever fervently. "That's what it means to be a ruler, is it not? To love and care for your citizens and to watch over them no matter what?"

"That sounds more like being a parent rather than being a ruler." Ayla finally spoke after much silence on her end. She didn't really have much to contribute here but the way Nasiah described being a ruler was similar as to how she saw herself taking care of Elyia.
