"You REALLY think she's ready for live training?"
"Oh for the love of- YES! You've asked that at least a dozen times!"
"You're exaggerating... I only asked ten times."
Yang quietly walked besides me as we followed Yu, who decided that it was time Yang to try actually combat instead of just training and practice.
"She spent her life before you surviving on her own, and now she actually has training. What more insurance do you need?" Yu asked with irritation.
I groaned in annoyance on how she was right. "Fine, but what will she even fight? Don't tell me you're planning to set her on humans."
"As appealing as that idea is, I have something different in mind," Yu replied as we kept walking to the forest. "Most mystics already moved to the Reverse Side to escape the age of man starting, but there's obviously still plenty around because they're either too stubborn, prideful, or just plain stupid," Yu suddenly stopped and pointed forward. "Case in point."
Me and Yang looked to see a... giant Oni? Demon? I'm not sure. It had green skin, hairy face, large tusks, and yellow eyes. It looked somewhat obese and wore a loincloth. It was also carrying a large spiked mace.
"And that thing is...?"
"Does it matter? Its gonna die anyway," Yu commented and I gave her a deadpan look. "If you must know, it's a mountain demon born from malicious spirits. Alright, brat. Go kill that thing and you can have both fish and cow tonight."
Yang's eyes gained a determined look in her eyes before she picked up her sword and started walking towards the giant... I'm just gonna call it a Oni.
Third POV:
Yang held her sword tightly as the Oni notices her. The mixture of human, Oni, and hints of divine blood were noticed by the larger Oni as it glared at Yang, acknowledging her as a threat.
Yang glared back and charged forward, her sword held high. The green Oni swung down his spiked mace and Yang rolled away to dodge. When the mace struck the ground, the Oni swept it in the direction Yang rolled in.
Yang jumped over the mace and swung her own weapon, causing a large cut in her opponent's arm. Her enemy roared in pain and swapped her away with its other arm, sending her away.
The young Oni hybrid let go of her weapon with one hand and used it to dig her claws into the ground to stop herself. Getting back up on her feet, Yang growled with a glare, her fangs showing.
Dark blue liquid began running down Yang's sword, which wasn't noticed by her but was noticed by Zack and Yu.
Yang charged forward again. The large Oni swung its weapon horizontally, and in response Yang rolled under the attack and in between her opponent's legs, landing in a crouch just behind them.
Swiftly turning around, Yang swung her sword and sliced the large Oni in the back of both knees, causing it to fell on said knees with a roar of agony.
Attempting to do the same as the Oni hybrid, the large Oni turned around and swung his spiked mace to sweep her away.
Yang jumped over the attack and, when the mace was directly under her, she used it as a platform and jumped towards her opponent's head.
Placing her feet on the Oni's chest, Yang held on to the hair on the Oni's head with one hand while the other reeled back her sword, which at this point was almost completely covered in the dark blue liquid.
Swinging her sword with great strength, Yang managed to completely slice off the head of the large Oni. Jumping off it's chest with the head still in hand
dangling from the hair, Yang landed and watched as the headless body fell on the floor with a loud thud.
First POV: Zack
"Well... She definitely got better," I commented as I watched Yang drop the head while panting.
"That sword shouldn't have been able to cut that thing's head so easily," Yu pointed out while looking at Yang's weapon in suspicion.
Speaking or which, that blue stuff was completely
gone. It just... vanished.
"What was that stuff?" I asked Yu.
"I'm not sure. But, it definitely reeked of divinity and being venomous," she replied with a tone of caution. Wait, did Yang just use Orochi's poison? That could be both helpful and dangerous. Orochi was treated with caution even by the gods because of how dangerous it was and-
"I'm stronger than you!" Yang suddenly cried out while pointing her sword at the Oni's corpse.
She looked so proud and happy with her
accomplishment. It would have looked a bit off putting to human, but to us Elementals?
"You have to admit, that's adorable," I whispered to Yang and she just grumbled while looking away.
