Scathach turned around, spinning her spear, and charged at me again. I really am not in the mood for this stuff, so when the spear went through me, I changed to my metal element and made it stay there.
I grabbed hold of the pole of the spear, and snapped it in half, making Scathach jump back and look at her broken spear- well, staff now, actually, and blink in shock.
In Nature's Law, even Gae Bolg is just a fancy stick with a pointy tip.
Scathach glared at me again and waved her hand. I guess she was trying to summon more spears. Obviously, nothing happened which caused her to look even more surprised.
"That's not gonna work here," I groaned with a shake of my head.
*Kick!*
"Ah!" Scathach cried out in pain after she charged in and tried to kick me in the head.
I just deadpanned at her as she jumped back on one foot and held what is most likely a broken ankle. I was in my metal element, and she was a normal human now.
"Are you done embarrassing yourself?" I asked, crossing my arms. It's really easy to forget that she's a Celtic Queen who is prone to violence just like any other Celtic warrior.
"What did you do to me?" Scathach asked, almost growling at me.
"I just stood here. You're the one who kicked a being made of metal while having a normal human body," I answered and that made her lock up and look at me in shock.
"What?"
"In this place, which is I'm sure you realised is my Reality Marble," I started explaining while motioning around. "There is only Humanity or the World. No in-between or anything else. Since you're not the World, that means you're Human."
"That's impossible," Scathach denied.
"More impossible than killing so much you got disowned by both Humanity and the world?" I asked, causing her to freeze again. "I know who you are, Scathach. Let me say this for a fact. You can't beat me. You can't kick me out. And I'm not leaving until I get my business done. So, why don't you go outside of my Reality Marble and heal that leg because you can't do that here? Or go somewhere in this Reality Marble and kill yourself because there's no immortality stopping you from dying anymore? Both are fine with me."
Scathach stayed quiet for a few seconds before she used the remains of her spear as a staff to help her walk away. I just watched and did nothing before turning back to making a vessel for myself.
Scathach wants to die, and she can do that in Nature's Law. But, I know she won't. Above all else, Scathach is a warrior. She won't accept a death like that. If she's going to die, it's gonna be in battle. She won't die from a meaningless suicide that became possible by chance.
That's not really my problem, however. At this point, Scathach should have already mentored Cu Chullain and other Celtic heroes. Her dying now shouldn't really affect human history in a negative way.
At least, I don't think it should. But, again, that's not my problem.
I just kept on trying to make bodies for the next... Two to three days, I think? It was already hard enough to keep track of time in normal circumstances, and Nature's Law made it worse with the fact the sky is always blue with no sun or moon in sight.
On the morning(?) Of the fourth day(?), I heard footsteps and I looked to see Scathach again. Healed but without a spear.
"Please don't tell me you're here to cause a ruckus. I'm not in the mood," failing for days straight has been nothing but painful, mentally that is.
Scathach stared at me for a few moments before saying something. "Legends... tell the tale of an
Elemental that bare no mystics, yet stands on top the world. I even heard fairies speak of them and their odd attachment, to humans," she looked at me with interest. "Are you... Zakiel?"
"Is that what the fairies call me?" I asked. As far as I know, I didn't have much contact with the fairies. I avoided them altogether. So, the fact I have a reputation with them is surprising.
Then again, I am Type Earth so I shouldn't be too surprised.
"So, it IS you," Scathach crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. "What are you doing in my domain? I am the queen of this land. I demand an explanation."
Oh, now you feel like talking?" I asked sarcastically with a shake of my head. "To answer your question, I'm trying to make a vessel for myself. Gaia and Alaya find my Reality Marble annoying, and since it's passive, I needed to find a way to create a vessel for me to move in outside of my real body. I didn't really mean to come to your domain. I just went to whatever land that was outside of Gaia and Alaya so they wouldn't complain nonstop about about my Reality Marble," Scathach took in what I said before walking towards one of trees and resting her back on it. "What are you doing?"
"I already finished clearing out the ghouls that usually rise up around the Land of Shadows. I have nothing to do. Watching you fail to create a vessel might entertain me," Scathach explained, crossing her arms.
Oh, I get it. She basically wants to see me embarrass myself by failing to create a vessel as payback for what happened to her a few days ago. Well, I'll show her! I just have to succeed.
I held my hand forward and focused, soon enough, a body formed in front of me and it held together... for a few seconds but broke apart soon after.
I ignored the smirk on Scathach's face and focused again.
I create another body... and then another... and another... another... another.... and this kept on and on.
"Dammit!" I cried out as my latest attempt broke as soon as it to finally stand still for moment.
Scathach chuckled, making me glare at her. "That was, what? Your thirty seventh-day attempt? And that's just counting the ones I saw you try," she laughed.
"Screw off," I growled as I tried again... only for my anger to throw me off and for it to break before I even had the chance to finish. "Oh for the love of god!"
"Are you done embarrassing yourself?" Scathach used my line against me.
"Oh, and I suppose you can make a body easily?" | taunted, fully tuning to face her.
"I can. I already figured out why you keep failing."
"... What?" I stared blankly at Scathach.
"I noticed something about all these bodies you make," Scathach stepped on one of the pieces of the body failures. "They're all too weak," she emphasised her point by crushing that piece under her foot. "If you are Zakiel, and you're as strong as the stories say, you will need a far stronger body to use as a vessel."
Dammit! How the hell did I not realise this sooner? You can't just make any old body for an Ultimate One! Even Brunestud needed to use Arcueid because all the other Ancestors were too weak to be his vessel.
"Okay, where do you suggest I get a stronger vessel?" I asked, knowing she wouldn't have brought this up if she didn't know.
"Simple, we can create one from within me."
The place fell quiet and I just stared at Scathach for several seconds before speaking again. "I am not spending nine months in your womb, woman," I stated, believing she wanted to pull some 'reincarnation' Trick.
Scathach rolled her eyes at me. "I have no desire for pregnancy either. I meant a different method," she crossed her arms under her breasts and pushed them up. "Besides, my chest getting bigger would throw off my balance and I have no desire to spend time getting used to the new weight."
We were having a normal conversation. We really were. It just... wasn't normal by human standards, that's all.
