I contemplated my Wolf and concentrated intensely on invoking her presence. To my surprise, it actually succeeded. My clothes shredded into pieces before me, and soon I found myself standing on all fours in my furry form. Excitement surged through me as I briefly admired my Wolf before refocusing on the task at hand. The surge of confidence within me propelled me to sprint towards the metal bar as fast as I could.
Agony coursed through my body upon contact with the bars. The electrical currents they emitted intensified the pain. However, seeing the dent I managed to create gave me a glimmer of hope amidst the suffering. Ignoring the pain, I persisted in attacking the metal until I carved out enough space for my escape.
By this point, my body felt ablaze with agony, and exhaustion threatened to consume me. Yet, the fear of returning to Marcus and being ensnared between the two packs spurred me on. I had to escape. Fortunately, the cell I was held in seemed isolated, although the absence of other prisoners struck me as peculiar.
My escape proved surprisingly smooth, despite my uncertainty about my destination. Opting for the woods, I sought refuge amidst the trees, despite the inherent dangers for a lone Wolf. As I ran, I eventually reached the edge of the woods and stumbled upon a breathtaking clearing adorned with waterfalls. The serenity of the scene washed over me, offering a rare moment of peace.
Interrupted from my reverie, I turned to find a girl beside me, her presence catching me off guard. Her beauty captivated me as she spoke, her voice sweet and soothing. She reached out to touch my fur, and though hesitant at first, I found solace in her gentle touch.
Introducing herself as Maya, she offered assistance, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of trust in her presence. Without realising it, I shifted back to my human form, a testament to the comfort she provided. She provided me with clothing and asked my name, to which I responded hesitantly.
As we conversed, I couldn't shake off the emotional turmoil brewing within me. Despite my attempts to conceal it, the simple question of whether everything was okay stirred dormant emotions within me.
Deciding to continue on my journey, I expressed my gratitude to Maya, who offered to guide me to the border. Her free-spirited demeanour and calming presence eased my apprehensions, and I found myself surprisingly willing to trust her.
Upon reaching the border, Maya's interactions with the guards highlighted her influence and respect within the pack. Despite the impending departure, a sudden interruption halted my exit, casting doubt on the situation.
Caught between conflicting forces, I found myself at the mercy of an unexpected confrontation. Uncertain of the unfolding events, I braced myself for what lay ahead, praying for a resolution that would allow me to prove my innocence and secure my freedom.
