Chapter 6: Dirt Road and Secrets

The old man followed the dirt road, leaving behind the village that was now breathing again. The horizon in front of him was vast, a mix of arid wilderness and sparse vegetation. The sound of his footsteps was his only companion, breaking the silence of the early morning.

As he walked, the old man reflected on what he had left behind. Each village, each person, was like a fragment of a greater life, a life he had chosen to live, not out of obligation, but out of necessity to move forward. The secrets of his long journey weighed on his mind, but he knew that the past was a shadow that could not be avoided, only accepted.

On a detour in the road, he found a young man sitting on a rock, staring at the ground with a somber expression. The old man approached slowly, without saying a word. The boy, noticing his presence, looked up and met the wanderer's serene gaze.

"Are you lost?" asked the old man, breaking the silence.

"I've lost more than just my way," replied the young man, his voice filled with despair.

The old man sat down next to the boy, ready to hear his story, like so many others that crossed his path.
