Haiden
Christian heading to the docks without me felt like a punch to the chest. I understood his logic, but the sheer helplessness of sitting here, waiting, was agonizing. Every second that ticked by was another second Hailey was in Leo's clutches.
Xan was a rock, a stabilizing force in the chaos. He efficiently coordinated our men, relaying information, and ensuring everyone was focused. But beneath his calm demeanor, I saw the same worry that was consuming me.
"We need to train," I stated abruptly, my voice rough. "Everyone. We need to be ready for anything."
Xan nodded, understanding immediately. He cleared the main room, and within minutes, a makeshift training arena was set up. We pushed our men to their limits, honing their skills, sharpening their reflexes. The brutal drills were a cathartic release, a way to channel the rage and fear that threatened to overwhelm us.
Even Akira joined in, his movements precise and deadly. He was a living weapon, a testament to years of discipline and training. Watching him, I was reminded of the darkness I tried so hard to keep hidden from Hailey. The ruthlessness that was necessary to survive in our world.
After a few hours of training Akira asked to speak with us in private, we went to my office away from everyone to talk.
"Christian told me about Hailey, I am truly sorry this happen to you and Christian, I will do anything within my power to make sure she is back safe." Akira said.
"Thank you Akira, it means a lot truly, we were lucky to have you as a friend" I said with a sincere smile.
"I want to train you both, I can see that you are both distracted and that can be your downfall, you need to be focused and clear minded when saving Hailey, I am not saying to forget about your feelings but you cant let it cloud your judgement." Akira said.
Christian and I both looked at each other and nodded our heads. We both knew we were distracted but we couldn't help it, Hailey was our everything and the thought of losing her was unbearable.
The training that followed was brutal. Akira pushed us harder than we had ever been pushed before, forcing us to confront our weaknesses, to master our fears. We sparred for hours, our bodies aching, our minds exhausted. But with each punch, each kick, each block, we became stronger, more focused.
During a break from training, Zack came in, he looked exhausted, his orange hair was messy and his blue eyes were bloodshot.
"I got some information on Leo, he is planning on moving Hailey to another location, he is getting paranoid that we are getting too close." Zack said.
"Where is he moving her to?" Christian asked, his voice sharp.
"We don't know yet, but we are working on it, we have men watching his every move." Zack responded.
The news sent a fresh wave of panic through me. We were running out of time. I needed to find Hailey, and I needed to find her now.
As the sun began to rise, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, a new group of recruits arrived. They were rough around the edges, but their eyes burned with a fierce determination. They were ready to fight, ready to die, for the Montes name.
Standing before them, I felt a surge of power coursing through my veins. I was a mafia boss, a leader of men, a protector of my family. And I would stop at nothing to bring Hailey home.
"We are going to war," I announced, my voice echoing through the training yard. "We are going to tear Leo's empire apart, piece by piece. And we are going to bring Hailey home. Are you with me?"
A resounding roar erupted from the crowd, a chorus of voices united in their cause. We were ready. War was coming, and Leo would soon realize the true meaning of fear. The thoughts of saving Hailey were consuming me, i keep seeing her face, her smile, i miss her laugh and her touch.
I went to my office and took out a picture of Hailey, i looked at it for a while feeling the tears build up. "I promise i will save you my love, i wont let anything happen to you"
