Chapter 67

Christian's POV

The air in the war room crackled with tension, thick enough to choke on. The news about her mother hit us all hard, but Haiden… I could see the raw fury simmering beneath his stoic facade. It mirrored my own.

"Find out where he's holding her," Haiden's voice was a low growl, barely audible above the hum of the computers. "And tell everyone to get ready. We're going to war."

I clenched my fist, knuckles white. "Xan, Zack, Akira - I want all eyes on Terrence. Every move, every contact, everything. Noah, get me everything we have on Leo's recent activity. I want to know how deep this rabbit hole goes. And send men to protect the club and Hailey's studio. Leo might try to use them to get to us as well."

The orders were barked out, concise and efficient. Years of running this operation had honed our skills, turned us into ruthless strategists. But tonight, strategy felt hollow. Tonight, it was personal.

Haiden rose from his chair, despite the obvious pain etched on his face. "I'm not sitting here. I'm going to find Leo."

"You're in no condition," I argued, my voice sharp. "You need to heal."

He shot me a look that could curdle milk. "Hailey wouldn't want me sitting on the sidelines. Neither would her mother. If I have to crawl, I'll do it. I'm not letting them suffer."

I knew there was no arguing with him. He was a force of nature when fueled by protectiveness, especially when it came to Hailey. "Alright," I conceded, "but you're not going alone. Xan, you're with him. Zack and Akira, you're with me. We'll hit Leo from all sides."

Our plan was simple: find Terrence, rescue Hailey's mother, and then make Leo wish he'd never been born. It was a brutal, bloody solution, but it was the only language Leo understood.

As we geared up, the weight of the situation settled on my shoulders. Hailey had no idea the kind of world she was involved in, the kind of men she was dating. We had always shielded her, kept her safe by keeping her in the dark. But now, our world was crashing into hers, and I didn't know how she would handle it.

We both knew that we had to have her.

It was love at first sight.

Now, that light was threatened, and I would do anything to protect it.

We piled into the armored cars, the engines roaring to life. I looked at Haiden, his face grim, his eyes burning with a deadly determination. We had faced countless enemies, overcome impossible odds. But this felt different. This felt like a test, a trial by fire. And the stakes were higher than ever before.
