The confusion

Ava's breath caught at the sight of his bloodied hand. "You are hurt!" She reached out to take his hand instinctively.

In a blink, Dylan grabbed her wrist, his eyes ablaze. "Don't pretend to be caring. Such action doesn't fit to a woman with a cold heart."

Ava felt her heart twist in anguish, but the pain quickly turned into anger, rising like a fire in her chest. "You always believe what other people say. Why can't you believe me for once?" Her voice trembled with emotions. "You didn't even hesitate to accuse me of this. Do you really think I'm capable of something so cruel?"

His fingers tightened around her jaw. "Did you leave me any choice to trust you? Everything is against you."

Ava was helpless. Tears blurred her vision, but she refused to back down. She knew it was all Gianna's doing. She couldn't help but be surprised at the level of her lies. She had gone this far to frame her, manipulating the situation and twisting the facts.
