Ava grew solemn, her insides clenched with indignation. She had never imagined Ethan could go to such lengths for power. She silently balled her fingers into fists.
The challenge ahead was even greater than she had anticipated, but her resolve only hardened.
"I won't let him sabotage me or this company," she said with determination. "Prepare everything for tomorrow's meeting. I'll make sure the directors—and Starlite—see exactly what I'm capable of."
"Very well, Miss. I'll ensure everything is in order."
The knocks echoed through the office, interrupting their conversation. Both Ava and Mr. Douglas turned toward the door.
"I'll send you the necessary files shortly, and don't hesitate to call me if you need anything."
Ava gave him a small nod of acknowledgment. "Thank you. Don't schedule any other meetings for today. I'll be leaving early—Dylan is being discharged."
