Gianna lifted her gaze. The hooded man stood at the edge of the pit, a shovel in his hands. This man was supposed to take her to safety. He was supposed to help her escape. But instead, he was burying her alive.
Her body trembled violently. "What are you doing?" she shrieked, scrambling to her feet, only for more dirt to fall onto her shoulders. "Madam Lydia sent you to save me! And you—you're trying to kill me!"
The man paused for a brief moment, his grip tightening around the shovel. Then, with a smirk, he delivered the truth with chilling finality.
"Wrong," he said coldly. "She gave me clear instructions—to finish you." And with that, he shoved another heap of soil down onto her.
"Agh!" Gianna cried out, scrambling to the farthest corner of the grave.
As the man continued to throw soil into the grave, Gianna's desperation grew. "I can't die here. I have to get out."
