"Huh?!" Sawyer pulled his head away from her, frowning as he noticed the gloomy expression on her face. He felt stunned.
"Why are you apologizing? Do you feel uncomfortable?" he asked worriedly.
Abigail sighed deeply, staring back at him as she expressed her troubled thoughts.
"I fainted last night, and we can't…" Abigail paused briefly. "Well, you know what I'm trying to say—" She struggled to voice her feelings. She lowered her gaze, avoiding his intense stare.
Sawyer's blue eyes slightly narrowed, his lips breaking into a smile when he saw how red her face had become. He could guess what she was thinking, so he asked casually, "You mean we can't make love?"
Abigail silently gulped and nodded shyly, saying, "I know we've been waiting for that day, but I'm so stupid! How could I—" She couldn't finish as Sawyer lifted her chin to meet his gaze.
