Sawyer approached the car, checking on his grandparents. Before he could say anything, Martha had already bombarded him with all sorts of questions.
"Sawyer, why are you alone? Where's Abigail? Is Old James okay? What took you so long? Can we meet Abigail's grandma now?"
Nathaniel, noticing his grandson's growing impatience as his grandmother asked question after question, couldn't help but laugh inwardly. He found the situation amusing.
Instead of intervening, he let his wife continue. He knew that his grandson was more obedient to his grandmother than him.
"Can we go inside now? I'm worried that Abigail's grandma will get tired of waiting and won't meet us," Martha added.
