New Day

Abigail rubbed her sore forehead while leaning against the car window, her mind still filled with what had happened at dinner.

She didn't expect Serena's parents to be as talented at acting as their daughter. They pretended to be genuinely accepting of her grandmother and her. Silly as it was, her grandfather believed them.

'Gosh! I shouldn't have held back from telling Grandpa how mean Serena was to me...' Abigail sighed softly, trying to hide her annoyance from Sawyer, not wanting him to worry.

However, it seemed that Abigail couldn't hide her anxiety. Ever since they left Grandpa Philips' residence, Sawyer had been watching her and understood his wife's unease. Yet, he intentionally didn't ask her to let her relax more.

Earlier, while still at James Philips' house, Sawyer noticed how uncomfortable and awkward his wife felt meeting Serena's parents. After dinner, he decided to take her home.
