Anna's POV
"Michael! Get your fucking hands off her!" Someone said from behind. It was Xavier. He rushed to him immediately and landed a punch on his face. Micheal fell to the ground.
"Oh my goodness Anna! It's him! Xavier Rolland." Jessica shouted and covered her mouth with her palms.
"Yeah, he was actually the one that saved me and Michael's step brother." I responded still focused on the men.
"You idiot! What the hell are you doing here stepbrother!? Long time no see and seeing me with a punch. Did you two know each other?" Micheal asked on the floor, his nose was bleeding. Yes! I smiled at myself in victory.
"Shocked huh? You fucking divorced your wife Micheal! I saved her at the point of death! You don't have any right to ask questions about her life!" Xavier yelled.
"So it was you? She's my wife! You don't have the right to be with this barren woman!" Micheal said and my eyes widened.
"Shut the hell up Micheal! I'm not your wife! Now get out." I said angrily. He stood up from the floor and covered his bleeding nose with a handkerchief.
"I'm coming for you too! Remember this!" He shouted and stormed off. I sighed in relief.
"You have been discharged Anna, we need to get out of here." Xavier said, I nodded and we left. I made a sign to Jessica like "Talk to you later"
"Hey Anna, aren't you gonna introduce me?" I heard Jessica yelled behind. I chuckled softly.

We got to the car, my mind racing around the recap interview I saw him with that reporter, everything she said. I couldn't even realize that he was calling my attention.
"Hey! Anna!" He said and I finally came to my consciousness.
"Oh, yes? What…what are you saying?" I asked absentmindedly.
"What are you thinking about? I was telling you to fasten your seatbelt." He said and nodded sharply. I quickly pulled my seatbelt and fixed it.
"So, thank you so much for saving me again…but I'm so unfamiliar with this hospital. Why did you bring me here? Your family has a particular hospital they love going to." I asked. He just chuckled while holding my hands.
"I used to come here often whenever I got dick because no one recognizes me. I believe you already watched the interview on television. And now I guess that's over." He responded with a smile.
"I thought you traveled to Europe? I haven't been seeing you for a long time." I said, pouting my mouth.
"I'm just here on business. Anna, I know I already said this but I'm saying this again. I have a preposition for you…." He began but I cut him off.
"I…I'm sorry but right now, u feel it's too rushed and I can't think straight about marriage at this point." I responded without looking at his face. He breathed out and nodded.
"Okay look, I totally get your main point. But, why don't you come and stay with me for a while?" He asked and I swallowed hard trying to comprehend his decision.
"Staying with you…I don't know…I …I just, I wouldn't want to make you feel so inconvenienced and uncomfortable in your own home." I responded, rubbing my palms together.
"Anna, you can't make me feel inconvenienced. Okay? Plus, I could use the company." He suggested. I hesitated for a while before I finally nodded. He pulled off his suit and hung it on my shoulders.
"Cover up, here…this will keep you warm until we get home." He smiled. I felt so drawn to him immediately. Why is he so kind to me?
"Thanks." I responded.

We got down from the car in front of his house, I followed him slowly as we entered the house. A young lady was sitting in the sitting room dressed in a suit, with wavy hair. She rushed to me immediately and she saw me with range.
"Xavier! Who is this shameless rat you dragged out of the sewer!?" She asked sarcastically and glaring at me.
"Excuse me? Who are you?" I asked in both shock and anger. She stopped halfway and stared at the both of us, she sighed and turned to me boastfully.
"How dare you not know me or who I am!? Well, I'm Mr Xavier's assistant Maureen and the Berol cooperation company is second in command and …" she stopped and I listened keenly to hear the last part with a shrug.
"His future wife." Maureen said boastfully and walked around the room. I can't help but laugh out loud.
"Maureen stop this." Xavier said in total disappointment.
"What's so funny about what I just said!?" She asked with a straight face.
"Sorry, I didn't know about this. Congratulations on your engagement xavier." I said turning to Xavier who still looks so disappointed.
"Maureen, you never cease to amaze me with your theatrics. And you know I'm not the marrying kind." Xavier responded with a smirk.
"Oh my God! Is she wearing your Dolce and Gabbana jacket? I'm really shocked it didn't disintegrate the moment it touched her dried up skin." Maureen said with a disgusting face.
"Shut up Maureen! Don't you dare talk about a family like that! And, stop spreading lies that we're getting married if that news is spread it would not be good for both of us." Xavier said furiously. Oh why is he so angry at her?
"But Xavier,I…" she tried to say but he cut her off. "Just leave Maureen, now!" He yelled. She let out a long sigh and patted the both of us. She stormed off vigorously.
Xavier took out his phone and dialed a number. "Security, I need you to have Maureen Rodriguez's access to my house revoked immediately." He turned to me in a more apologetic way.
"I'm sorry about that. She's got control issues." He said with a cute smile. I reciprocated the smile. "Clearly." I nodded in affirmation.
"Right this way." He said and took me to a very beautiful and huge room, plus the size of my matrimonial room in my Ex-husband's house! But how come he's so rich? You know, he wasn't that rich before when I first met him. The bed and everything in it is well decorated and beautifully arranged. And it smelled nice!
"Wow! Your place is really beautiful! All this just for you?" I exclaimed happily looking around the room. He took off the suit on my shoulders and hung it on the bed.
"Yeah, for now." He responded, my eyes Caught pictures on the table slabs looking exactly like me, I made to take a closer look but he immediately swept me off my foot and I laid on his hands in a bridal style. Our eyes locked together, our faces almost closer to each other.
What the heck?
