I lift my head from my computer, and beside me, Alice does the same. My gaze lands on my overbearing manager, and I force a smile.

Mr. Ron frowns at me before shifting his attention to Alice. "Oh, you're Lester's editor, not Camille," he scoffs. "You couldn't even handle Catherine, yet you went ahead and took Lester from Camille."

"There's nothing for you to worry about, Mr Ron. Lester and I are already working on his current project. It will be submitted to you soon." Alice simply answers.
