~CAMILLE~
The water is warm against my skin, cascading from the rainfall showerhead like soft fingers. I close my eyes, letting the steam wrap around me like a blanket. For a moment, I feel safe—like I can rinse everything away. Last night. The kiss. The way he touched me. The part of me that still aches with questions I'm too afraid to ask.
A sudden gust of cold air hits my back.
I whirl around, heart skipping.
Niklaus steps in like he owns the room—eyes dark, lazy smile on his lips. His hair is damp from the mist, bare chest glistening under the soft lights. I blink, speechless for a second.
"I thought I made it clear that I was showering alone," I manage, reaching for the nearest towel.
He smirks and lets the door swing shut behind him. "You didn't say and if you did, it didn't sound very convincing."
"Niklaus," I warn, wrapping the towel over my chest.
