C34: Origami interpretation?

As Dong Zhen advanced more with the plot. The memories of Johnny have transitioned from his old to middle age.

He stood by the window, watching River, who was suffering from terminal disease, lying in her bed with the platypus doll beside her.

She suffers from Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)[The specific disease of her remains unknown].

On the ground, there were scattered a lot of paper-folded rabbits.

'This was either a hobby or her Autism disorder, which means the Origami rabbit has a certain meaning or message that she is trying to convey.' Dong Zhen mused

The conversation between them started to play out.

"It's just enough, even after paying for the surgery. The remaining money is enough... So, don't worry, dear," He told River, trying to sound reassuring and hopeful.

But she just looked at him, eyes full of doubt and concern. As she spoke, "A white lie"... His lies can't escape her,

"You think it's a white lie, don't you?" Johnny spoke with some discomfort while scratching his head.

"No, I'm sure we just..." He began to explain, but she cut him off.

"Stop talking... I don't like it when you lie." River spoke with an annoyed face with wide eyes while staring at him.

"I've counted our property. I know the actual situation." He starts to explain again as he fidgets under River's stare.

"Why do you do so? Why do you want to convince me? Why go against my will?" River spoke with certain determination

The sadness within her words hit him, and he grew more frustrated. He spoke with certain anxiety in his voice, "We need that money for your medical bills, River!"

"I understand that Anya is important to you, but this... this is outrageous!" Johnny replied

Johnny struggled to hold back. "I mean, not even she is—"

But she interrupted him again. "Do you know what would make me happy?"

Following their conversation, Dong Zhen and those watching the live broadcast finally understood who Anya was.

⊙▂⊙ Who was Anya????

In the previous memory fragment, Johnny had mentioned that Anya held an important place in River's mind. But no one knew exactly who Anya was.

At first, Dong Zhen guessed it was the platypus doll, but now he had a new guess.

LMAO, why will the platypus doll need money? And dude, how can you name that doll as Anya? (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)

Anya wasn't a platypus or a human. She might be the lighthouse on the edge of the cliff.

That is some out-of-the-line reasoning still... But it's the truth.

River might have been cured of her illness. But she persisted with her wish~ To use the remaining money from her treatment, to build a house by the lighthouse. It was believed that being there, overlooking the lighthouse would make her happy.

"What's going on? Don't! No Don't die! A house with a view of the lighthouse is more important than your life!?" Dong Zhen shouted toward the stream with a worried expression

Dong Zhen's mind raced with questions. The anticipation within him was bubbling.

There were too many doubts.

At that moment, River handed him a paper rabbit.

It was the same special Origami rabbit made up of two different color papers, Clearly distinct from the other ones that were sprawled on the floor.

"What's this for?" Johnny asked, his eyes hopeful as he looked at her.

He was surprised but continued, "It's a rabbit, just like the ones you've made before."

"And?" she asked with anticipation for something. A flicker of Joy bubbled within her eyes. (⌒‿⌒)

"Then... uh..." Johnny hesitated, unsure of what she wanted me to say. "Well, it's made up of two different papers." He commented with an expression which is a mixture of confusion and embarrassment.

(〃 ̄ω ̄〃ゞ

"Anything else?" River asked him again with a certain hope. ( ఠ ͟ʖ ఠ)

( ・ω・)☞ "Its body is yellow, and the rest is blue."

River has a look of disapproval (ಠ_ಠ) as she asks, "Good. What else?"

Earlier, River's eagerness was evident, but Johnny had no idea what she was trying to convey. Feeling lost, he changed the subject and told her about a piece of music he had written for her.

He called it "To River."

She laughed at this, teasing Johnny about using her name, saying it was a bit old-fashioned, which is not like him.

Time continued to pass ahead in this memory, and I felt the weight of their worries.

Johnny was faced with a dilemma: should he treat River first, or should he fulfill her wish to build a house by the lighthouse?

Johnny was making a painful choice, but Dong Zhen and the audience in the live broadcast room, as well as Neil and Eva in the game, understood that in the end, Johnny followed River's wishes and made a choice.

But why!?

From Johnny's conversations with his friends Isabel and Nicholas, Neil gathered a lot of key information. Anya, just as Dong Zhen suspected, is the lighthouse on the edge of the cliff. This lighthouse is also where River's grave is and is also the place where River and Johnny married.

But Zhen still can't figure it out!

Why is River so obsessed with this lighthouse?

Based on their dialogue, Zhen can also gather that River is still suffering from the disorder, and the origami rabbit seems to be one of the manifestations of that illness. But why is she so attached to that lighthouse? And what does this rabbit Origami mean?

"Man, I really can't figure it out!" Dong Zhen thought, with a face full of doubt, just like everyone who was watching the stream.

At the same time, the barrage in the live broadcast room was constantly lighting up with comments:

'The capacity of my brain is not enough.' (oT-T)尸

'The CPU is overloaded!' (╯°益°)╯彡┻━┻

'Speaking of which, what does this paper rabbit mean?'

'I always feel like there's something off about this game!'

Everyone in the live broadcast room was just as curious about the plot as Dong Zhen was and was eagerly waiting for the answers to these questions.

As time moved backward in Johnny's memory, he and River grew younger. The two of them shared a romantic embrace just below the lighthouse, named Anya, full of hopes and dreams for the future.

But what kept bothering me was that River was still folding those paper rabbits. She took the blue and yellow rabbit in front of Johnny and asked, "What is this?" \( ˋ Θ ´ )/

Zhen remember how, even when River was seriously ill, she was still asking Johnny that question.

That made everything more confusing.

"So, what does this rabbit represent!?" Zhen asked himself.

Zhen couldn't help but scratch his head, feeling as tormented by curiosity as Johnny was.

And what kind of disease did River have?

Countless questions were swirling in his mind.

After hearing Nicholas and Isabel's perspective, He learned more about River—that Isabel and River suffered from the same illness. It was this illness that made River's speech seem strange and confusing, making it difficult to understand what she was trying to communicate.

"So, River suffers from an inability to articulate herself and a social disorder?" Zhen wondered, trying to piece it all together.

This could explain River's strange behavior before. Why does she keep asking Johnny about the rabbit? Why did she have him throw the sandbag at Anya and then stood at the edge of the cliff, taking a risk?

Because River, suffering from her illness, couldn't express herself clearly. She had to rely on hints and subtle actions to convey her inner thoughts.

Even though Zhen was starting to understand, new questions arose.

What does the rabbit represent? And why does River have such a deep connection to the lighthouse named Anya, even to the point of sacrificing herself for it?

It can't just be because she married Johnny there, right?

It doesn't make sense, either!
