When you're at your lowest...

February 5th,

Dear Diary, I'm still struggling with trying to comprehend what happened last night. Lissa and Tony lived with their aunt and uncle since they were orphans but they were treated well, much to my surprise and relief but recently, their uncle hit the jackpot and he became busier and their aunt, who was a fahion designer started traveling more often than before so Lissa and Tony were literally abandoned. Their elder sister, Ania was in college but when she visited two days ago and noticed the changes that had occurred at home, she became furious with Aunt Tanya and Uncle Cole that she asked Tony and Lissa to move in to my house since we usually stayed together and we were close. She was seriously angry with her Aunt's and Uncle's negligence that she spoke with my mom and she let Tony and Lissa move into our house so, they were basically living with us now. Tony and Lissa weren't happy with the decision their sister made and they tried to take sides with their aunt and uncle but when Lissa ran home yesternight because of Tony, she met a locked door and a note. She didn't tell me anything about it until this morning and I felt heartbroken for her. The note was written by her aunt who said they had relocated because of their jobs and they were sorry for not informing them sooner. She also said that they wanted Tony and Lissa to come along but Ania wouldn't hear of it so they had to leave without them. Lissa broke into tears as I hugged her tightly. Tony was upstairs with Ray as Lissa and I were in the kitchen, trying to prepare breakfast when I noticed her gloomy demeanor and I asked her about it. That was how she showed me the letter and- you know what happened next.

"Lissa? Lissa please calm down...does Tony know yet?" I asked as she shook her head against my chest. Her body shook as she cried uncontrollably and I stroked her hair tenderly, I was at a loss for words. I didn't know what to say to make her feel better...

Lord, I don't have the words to comfort her right now but please let your presence bring peace and stillness to her heart. Lord please heal her of every hurt she enduring now and give her your never-ending joy. Help her find solace in you, help her find rest in you, Amen.

"Lissa, I know you're hurting and you probably feel like all hope is lost and you're seriously broken and weak now but remember that in our weakness, God's strength is made perfect and now's the time you need to be close to Him because it's only in His presence that you'll find peace and hope. He's the father to the fatherless and the love He has for you can never be exhausted no matter the troubles you've faced. What did Jesus say about troubles of life?" I asked as she raised a tear-stained face and looked at me with red puffy eyes.

"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."

John 16:33.

"Thanks a lot, San. You've done a lot for me and my brother and I can only thank God for your life. You're a God-sent." She said, sniffing.

"Oh! Now you're gonna make me cry." I said, fanning my face animatedly as she giggled.

"Yeah now that's what I wanna see." I said as we hugged each other again and facing the kitchen.

"Now let's cook."

He gives us hope,

When hope is gone,

He gives us strength,

When we can't go on,

He gives us shelter,

From the storms of life,

There's no peace on earth,

There is peace in Christ...
