Chapter 13 : A New Plan

Sharon’s POV

I was pacing back and forth in Douglas's office, my eyes darting to the clock every few seconds. The air was thick with the smell of old leather and dust. His desk was stacked high with documents and charts of team formations, which seemed to suffocate the room. It had been over an hour since Douglas left, his brow furrowed with worry as he answered the phone call from the principal. I kept hoping all was well. I walked over to the window and stared outside at the field where the players were practicing their morning drills. It was a sight; they were a well-oiled machine. Hopefully, when Douglas got back, he'd let me be a part of the team again.
