Chapter 18 : Second Chances Are a Thing

Sharon’s POV

I could feel Tina’s gaze burning into me as I wandered back to my desk, gathering my notes and arranging them into a neat stack. She stood with her arms crossed, her brows furrowed in a deep frown. Her frustration radiated off her in waves, almost tangible in the tiny space we shared. I hated it when she got angry.

“What do you mean you can't go out tonight? And what meeting is so damn important that you'd ditch your best friend over it?” Tina’s voice was sharp, each word a pointed jab.

"Forget your stupid meeting, Sharon. You're my best friend, and I need you. Besides, we both know they'll probably reject you like all the others, so why bother?" Her voice was thick with hurt.
