Sharon’s POV
The early morning air was cool against my skin as I walked back to campus from Douglas’s house. The sky was overcast, dull shades of gray filtering the sunlight as I moved slowly, my thoughts swirling with the events of the past few days. The scandal, the accusations, and the looming tension still weighed heavily on my shoulders. Yet, despite it all, a strange sense of closure settled within me. Douglas’s reassuring presence last night, his quiet strength, and the warmth of his kiss had somehow made things more bearable.
As I neared the dormitory, I spotted a figure hunched over near the entrance. Even from a distance, I could recognize the familiar silhouette. Tina was standing there, her back slightly slouched as she gripped the handle of a large suitcase. She seemed to be trying to pull it over the uneven gravel path, the wheels struggling to cooperate.
