Nidavellir II

Dave met Eitri's gaze without hesitation. "To protect," he said simply, his voice steady and resolute.

Eitri studied him for a moment longer, then nodded. "Good enough reason," he said, his tone lighter. "I can forge such a sword, but it will take time—and precision unlike anything I've attempted before."

Thor, who had been observing silently, stepped forward and placed a battered relic onto the table. It was none other than the shattered remnants of Mjölnir. "While you're at it, can you fix this?" Thor asked, a faint smile on his lips.

Eitri's brow furrowed as he picked up a piece of the once-mighty hammer. He turned it over in his hands, the scars of its destruction evident in the jagged edges. "I wonder what you've been doing to end up with Mjölnir in this state," he mused aloud.

Thor glanced at Dave and grinned sheepishly. "Let's just say I met a mighty warrior."

Dave shrugged nonchalantly, adding, "To be fair, it wasn't entirely his fault."

Eitri sighed, shaking his head as he set the fragments down. "Well, if it's with me, it's possible to fix it—and perhaps even upgrade it."

Thor's eyes lit up at the prospect. "Upgrade, you say? I like the sound of that."

Eitri picked up the chest of materials Dave had brought, hefting it with ease despite its weight. "Don't worry. I'll ensure both projects are completed to the highest standards. But remember—true power lies not in the weapon itself, but in the hands of its wielder."

With that, the dwarf turned and walked deeper into the forge, his mind already racing with designs and possibilities for both the sword and the hammer. Dave and Thor exchanged a glance, their anticipation growing as the work began.

"Let's wait until he's done," Thor said as he took a seat nearby.

"Aren't you going inside?" Natasha asked, curious and tempted to explore the forge, perhaps even to commission a weapon for herself.

"We can't," Thor replied, relaxing as he leaned back. "Those dwarves will kick us out while swinging their hammers. They like to work with utmost focus, and our intrusion might disturb them. A single mistake, and we can forget about commissioning any other weapon here."

Natasha nodded, understanding the seriousness. "Though, do you want a weapon?" Thor asked her.

Natasha nodded as she said " I have a friend, I want one for him"

"We have many in Asgard," Thor replied, then turned to Diana, who was looking around curiously. "For you too—the weapons in Asgard are more than enough for warriors like you."

As Eitri worked tirelessly in the depths of the forge, Dave turned to Thor, who had now settled in, looking relaxed but clearly eager to see Mjölnir restored.

"How long do you think it'll take?" Dave asked, adjusting his stance as he leaned against a nearby structure.

"It could take a few hours, maybe longer, depending on the intricacies of the repairs," Thor answered, his eyes fixed on the glowing forge. "But I have no doubt Eitri will do his best."

Dave glanced around at the barren surroundings. There wasn't much to see, but waiting outside was better than disturbing the dwarves. "And what about my sword?" he asked.

Thor looked at him and shrugged. "He'll inform us when it's ready. For now, we wait."

Unknowingly, three days passed as they waited. Finally, Eitri emerged from the forge, carrying Mjölnir. The hammer looked restored and enhanced—its surface gleamed like new, and runes were now etched into its sides.

"The repair was finished in half an hour," Eitri explained, setting the hammer down on the table. "Upgrading it took time."

Thor grabbed Mjölnir with a wide grin. "It's great. You're the best, Eitri!"

Eitri nodded, clearly proud of his work. "The hammer was broken due to vibrations. I've made it highly resistant to them now. I also added runes for elemental resistance while I was at it."

"Thank you," Thor said, spinning the hammer to test its weight and balance.

Eitri turned to Dave, holding out a sword. "As for you, this is yours for the time being."

Dave inspected the weapon. It was magnificent, radiating a powerful energy that resonated with him. "It's a beautiful sword. What is it?" Dave asked.

"It's named Gram, also known as the Dragon Slayer Sword. It's imbued with dragon-slaying energy," Eitri explained.

Dave nodded, appreciating the craftsmanship, but his brow furrowed. "But can it hold the power of the Infinity Stones?"

Eitri paused, considering his words carefully. "This sword can temporarily hold the power of three Infinity Stones. Any more, and it will break after a few uses. If you wish to wield all six stones without the sword breaking, you'll need the Sword I plan to forge for you."

"And how long will it take to forge- My Infinity Sword?" Dave asked.

Eitri stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Infinity Sword… a fitting name. It will take a minimum of a year, and if you provide me with even better metals, I can make it even stronger."

Dave nodded in understanding. Natasha, however, let out an exasperated sigh. "Why does it take so long?"

Eitri snorted, clearly unimpressed with her impatience. "Do you know how long it took to forge Mjölnir? Months! These things take time if you want them done right."

Satisfied with Eitri's answers, Dave secured Gram in his inventory.

"Though it is not immensely powerful, it can perfectly hold the energy of two Infinity Stones," Eitri explained as Dave nodded. However, Dave asked, "What about the payment for this sword?"

"You've already paid me," Eitri replied with a smirk. Dave tilted his head in confusion, prompting Eitri to chuckle. "The materials you provided were more than enough to forge your sword. In exchange for the extra metal, I repaid you with this blade."

Dave nodded in understanding. "Thank you. For now, we'll be on our way. If I find more rare metals, I'll bring them to you—if not, I'll return a year from now for the Infinity Sword."

"Very well," Eitri agreed with a slight nod before turning back to his forge, already resuming his work as if their departure was just another passing moment.
