Meanwhile thousands or hundreds of miles away in a discrete private hospital in Jantique.
Colin Small flinched and groaned in pain.
"It's ok baby" Lesley said as she touched the back of his hand.
"You had an accident and the Doctors say you will make a full recovery. " Lesley stood up and wiped the tear that ran down his face.
Lelsley touched the bag with the drip, watching every single drop of solution that ran into her husband's body.
"Where am I" Colin struggled to ask.
"You are home in Jantique. Lesley replied.
"Home?" Colin asked as his eyelids opened.
"Nurse!, he is awake and I think he is in pain" Lesley shouted.
Moments later Nurse Imona walked into the room. Her green scrubs clung to her curvy body.
"No need for shouting Mrs Small. I was right outside." Imona replied with a tinge of Sas.
"It's Mrs President, for you" Lesley snapped.
"Lady, is Jantique you deh and we don't have a President, we have a Prime Minister. Speak to me with respect or else air will fill up the drip enuh." Imona said flatly.
"Hello, do you know how much money I am paying at this hospital? Lesley asked.
Imona rolled her eyes.
"Mrs Small, maybe we got off on the wrong foot a couple of weeks ago, but remember hundreds of people are killed or injured in Jantique every year. Your husband is just another person to us. The money that you are spending really does not mean much to us. However, I can see that you love this man and we or better yet I am doing the best I can. I have been sequestered on this ward since President Small arrived at the private air strip. I have not seen or spoken to my family. I have not hugged my husband or laid with him. Instead I am here taking care of your husband sponging him down, bathing him, changing his bandages and when he is asleep all I can hear him talk about is Lesley, Lesley." Imona sighed and forced a smile on her lips.
"Lesley, tried to remember her manners. "I'm sorry nurse Imona. I understand and I have been here too. He is my life and I do not know what I would do without him. Thank you. Has he said anything bad about me? Lesley chuckled trying to break the ice.
Imona laughed.
I understand you are from Jantique. Imona replied while Lesley watched as Imona's entire body jiggled when she laughed.
"Yes, originally I am from Flamouth Town" Lesley replied. "My mother met my father when he visited on a cruise ship, but he had a son and they fell inlove and we moved away after I left high school. Yes Colin is my world. I love him dearly. Besides you can call me Lesley."
"So sweet, do you guys have any kids?" Imona asked.
She watched as Lesley's eyes sank to the floor.
"Not for the want of trying, but" Lesley's voice trailed off.
"What I shame, Imona glanced towards the middle of the gown that covered Colin's tool with the catheter.
"No, no it's me" Lesley half shouted.
Maybe I should take over the sponge baths from now on. I hear about you fluffy Jantican women." Lesley joked.
Imona chuckled. "You two are perfect for each other, but seriously your husband may be able to go home in a few days. I will up his morphine for now, but the Doctor says he is healing nicely."
"Thank you Jesus" Lesley replied.
"Do you have any children Imona?" Lesley asked.
"Yes, I have a son, Marcus Dean Jr. I was married, became a widow and I met and fell in love with a patient." Lesley watched as Imona's face lit up like a Christmas tree in July.
Lesley, cleared her throat.
"Nah, you don't have to worry, your husband too brown. I like my men tall dark and handsome. Come to think of it President Small is handsome and hung enuh, but sister you good." Imona burst out laughing.
Lesley started to laugh hysterically too until tears ran down her face. God I need this Imona. The whole episode almost gave me a heart attack, the stress this man put me through.
Imona watched as Lesley stroked Colin's forehead. She could see the devotion and love in Lesley's eyes.
