Chapter One & Two

Lex made his way into the house after his sister. He hissed as soon as he smelt an unpleasant odor. A little girl around the age of ten took off their coats and offered to hang them up for drying. The sister muttered a 'thank you' while the brother just allowed the girl take the coat without a single word of appreciation.

The little girl watched him match ahead and gritted her teeth. She stared hard at him but could not hold the stare for a long time because a close person tugged at her sleeves.

"Now stop it if you want to keep your head intact with your body", Many advised her.

'My head? Is he the king or what?', The girl thought.

"He's the prince, Eve. So watch what you say", Alexis said. Eve frowned at Alexis' comment but he rolled his eyes.

"I couldn't help it. Someone could hear you", He whispered to her and she rolled her eyes briefly.

"Eve!!", A loud yell was heard from the meeting room.

"The witch is calling you", Alexis whispered to Eve's dismay. Eve dropped the coats with Mandy and left to answer the call.

Her steps were gentle on the sparkling tiles she had clean earlier that morning. One after the other, her steps were taken like the classy young lady she would soon become. She heaved a sigh and nodded to the maids to open the door.

"You called for me, lady Elizabeth ", Eve courtesies slightly.

"Ah yes! I just decided to introduce you to our special guests for the next three days", Lady Elizabeth announced. "This is our Royal Princess, Caroline and this is our Prince - our Royal Prince, Lex", She gestured with her hands.

Eve didn't dare look up but she knew one of them directed an heated gaze towards her.

"They will be staying in the special rooms for three days. Treat them well and do your best", lady Elizabeth said with a wry smile.

"I will do my very best, lady Elizabeth", Eve replied and bowed.

"Good! You may take your leave", She declared with an air of authority. Eve managed to have an eye contact with the Prince but broke it immediately when he smirked. The door was shut immediately she went out of the room. She ran as far as her feet could carry her.

"Anything funny, Prince Lex?", Lady Elizabeth asked.

"No", Lex replied. "It's just that things will get very interesting soon in your mansion", He added with a smirk on his handsome face.

"What does she want?, Mandy asked Eve as soon as she was back.

"It seems like I'm part of the people in charge of her stupid guests ", Eve replied with a palm struck on her forehead.

"Are you okay?", Alexis sounded concerned.

"I'm not okay, Alexis", Eve replied Alexis. Alexis went to Wve and hugged her while patting her back.

"Would you stop all this rom-com movie and help me in the kitchen? Alexis, Mandy and Eve, you can go somewhere else apart from here. No children are allowed into the kitchen", The head chef said.

"I'm going to be thirteen in three months' time, Mia", Eve complained.

"Really?", Mia dropped her spoon. She walked towards Eve and cupped her cheeks. "You look like a ten year old to me. Now OUT!", Mia ordered with authority as her index finger pointed in the exit direction.

"I'll save some cake and juice for you guys", Mia added to boost their spirit.

The children nodded their heads and left the kitchen reluctantly. "The Princess is so pretty", Mandy broke the silence between them.

"She is", Eve replied her.

"You must be very happy to serve the prince", Alexis announced to Eve's disgust.

"It's my worse nightmare to serve that irritating and annoying prince of Persia", Eve spat.

"Maid! Yes you!!", The prince appeared suddenly and pointed to Eve. Eve's heart started to pound lightly in her chest.

'Did he hear the unpleasant word that came out of my mouth right now? I don't think so', Eve thought happily.

"What do you want from me, my prince", Eve asked and tried to maintain an eye contact. She could not speak and began to explore his world.

'He's a very handsome prince', Eve thought.

He had an ebony long hair and everything from his head to his toe was damn perfect. His eyes were smoothly shaped. His nose was perfect and thin. His lips were also rightly made and they were perfect for smirking.

In short, his cute years of being a boy must have been amazing. His ears were lovely and he had this stuff - Adams apple. He was also tall; a bit taller than Alexis to be honest. He had long legs and a built figure. His hands had itss veins visible and beautiful.

"Why are you staring at me? I klnowe I am the most handsome creature you've ever seen in your damn life but-", A thing began to make a strange noise or perhaps, music, and we looked around to catch it.

We were stunned when Prince Lex removed an object with two cameras and a tiny circle from his perfectly measured pocket. He swiped the screen with his finger and placed the thing on his ear. I heard my native language - Korea.

I knew what they were talking about but I pretended not to know. They were talking about him leaving the kingdom and going somewhere for his education. That somewhere looked like a very far place. From the way they conversed, the caller must be a member of the family.

The Princess began to talk by stating her main mission in the house. To inspect what we were cooking and how untidy our rooms are.

'How rude and immature of her', Eve thought in her mind and rolled her eyes at Princess Caroline's comment.

"Are you all the kids in the mansion?", She asked us.

"Yes", Mandy replied.

"I don't take a monosyllabic word for an answer", The Princess bragged.

The other children looked at each other in shock and Eve decided to answer.

"Yes, we are the only kids in the mansion"

'How can your so-called aunt have a child when she has used her witchcraft to sacrifice them all to her fellow witches?', Eve said in her mind

The Princess was also beautiful with her hair. She had a beautiful skin and was lively by her character. She was a little bit taller than Eve though they look like they were of the same age. Eve decided to ask for her age later in the day. Now, the clock struck 10am!

The princes made her way to the kitchen and Ve made up her mind to steal a glance of the prince. Prince Lex immediately cayght her gaze and she looked away shyly.

"I want to have a taste of everything you're cooking", Princess Caroline spoke with an air of authority. A maid immediately gave her a chair to sit on at the entrance of the kitchen.

"Yuck!", The princess squeezed her face in disgust. "This is bad. Taste this, Eve, and tell me how it tastes"

Eve took the small bowl and the spoon to taste the soup and got her tongue burned in the process. She made a tiny yelp and blew the soup with her mouth before swallowing it.

"It tastes salty", Eve commented to the horror of the chefs.

"Good! Take that as offense number one"

"Next!", One of the cooks handed her a roasted, fried, boiled, garnished beef to taste. "Taste all those beefs with me, Eve, and tell me what you think", Princess Caro spoke.

"The fried beef is super hard", Eve began. "The boiled one is perfect with the roasted and the garnished is delicious", Eve reported.

"Finish that beef. I don't eat leftovers", The princess said and Eve appreciated her for her kindness.

"You!", Princess Caro pointed to a nearby maid. "Give me all in her bowl"

She was served the same thing but she did not eat the fried beef.

"Next!"

She was served rice and Eve was asked to taste as usual.

"It is delicious", Eve reported and ate the rest. Yes, she likes the princess because of the free food she was getting now in the kitchen. Eve would stylishly pass some of ghe food to Alexis and Mandy who would stuff them into their mouth with style.

Eve looked in the other direction and saw Prince Lex looking at her with an hardened gaze. Sge ignored him and continued eating, giving reports and sending food to the two friends of hers.

"Next!", The princess roared.

A lovely cake was passed to Eve to taste. The cake was so good that she took two more taste before cutting it for her friends.

"The cake tastes good. It is fluffy and yummy", Eve remarked to the bakers' delight.

"Really?", Princess Caro beckoned with her hand to the maid. The princess tasted the cake and demanded for another place with another slice of the same cake in it.

"Lex", The princess called for her brother. "Taste this yummy cake and tell me what you think"

The prince was served his portion and he tasted it once. "Yeah, it tastes good", He replied and handed his plate to Eve. Eve could swear that his fingers deliberately made contact with hers while giving her the plates.

"Let her have it", The prince declared.

"How dare you?", The princess bellowed. "How dare you use the prince's spoon?", She continued.

"I wasn't. I haven't even used it. I just-"

*PAAK!!*

Even tenderly rubbed her cheeks. "You don't talk when I'm talking, flirty human", Princess Carolina thundered.

" I'm sorry, Princess Carolina", She bowed with a rear threatening to fall in the floor.

"Good. Now apologize to the prince"

"I'm sorry, Prince Lex", Evie avoided his eyes.

" Now, take me to your room. I'm starting with you first", She pointed at Mandy.

Mandy took her to a room on the lowest floor of the mansion. The room was slightly big but as usual the princess was irritated.

"Your room is messy, untidy...Aargh! I'm disgusted. Your room stinks. Did a rat die in here?!" , The princess held her nose and walked out in disgust.

Alexis' room was next. Princess Carolina was not too impressed because his room looked stuffy and improper.

"Eve!" , The princess called.

"Yes princess", Eve replied.

" Yes princess", The princess mimicked her voice.

"Oh please, I'm not your boyfriend or husband.

Stop that", The princess said and hung her hand upon Eve's shoulders.

"Come on, take me to your room", The princess instructed.

Eve walked in front and cursed the Prince that was following them. They walked around for three minutes and Princess Caro began to complain.

"What is your room this far and hidden? Are you a criminal or what? ", She eyed Eve suspiciously.

"It's just Lady Elizabeth's setting", Eve replied softly and came to an almost invisible door.

"I love this - spooky!" , Princess Caro shrieked out. The princess walked into the room and was quite pleased. "Wow! I like your small room. It's beautiful right, Lex?"

"Yeah", The prince replied to his sister 's question.

"Your room smells nice" , The princess closed her eyes and drew in a long sniff.

"So, uhm, what's your job here, Eve?" , Princess Caro asked.

"I just help with little things like cleaning"

"Oh"

"What about you" , She looked at Alexis.

"Same"

"You?"

" Same"

"Okay, Eve...You're going to serve me. Those two can serve Lex. So, Eve, you are with me, okay?"

" Okay, Princess Caro"

"Good. I'll leave you to attend to other things now", The princess said and left. Mandy and Alexis turned to leave when Eve grabbed Alexis' hand.

Eve and Prince Lex locked gazes and she immediately broke it. He should have followed his sister but he remained there.

'That's the door. Just get out already, you stupid prince', Eve thought in her head and saw the Prince smile at her. He finally left through the door and Eve rushed to lock it.

Eve hugged Alexis in excitement. "I think I'm getting my powers", She announced happily. "Shh!" , Alexis hushed her.

"You can't let that witch know about this. Have You forgotten what she did to Mandy a month ago?" , Alexis reminded her.

"I haven't"

" So, what powers are we talking about?", Alexis asked.

"There's this blue glow I see whenever I'm anxious or angry and my hair glows and then...and then..."

"And then? ", Alexis arched his brow.

" I feel cool-no! Everything gets cold"

"I think you have the ice element", Alexis told her.

"But it comes when I don't want it. Like-"

"Unaware"

"Unaware"

They looked at each other for a second and laughed. "Please, don't say any bad comments about the royalties in your mind. They could hear you and then something would be done to you.

" Please, don't do something stupid", Alexis told her.

" I won't. I promise", Eve promised him and he smiled.

"Does your cheek hurt?" , Alexis touched her cheeks and she nodded.

"Just a little. I'm gonna be fine soon"

"I'll sneak in something for you by night. I can stay here if you want", He proposed and Eve felt warmth and care.

"No. I'll be fine", Eve assured him.

"I just need a hug", Eve opened her arms and went towards Alexis for a warm hug. He embraced her and noticed she was burning up.

"You have a temperature. I'll bring something for you", Alexis told her and left hurriedly.
