Hugo and the cool girl were still standing there, locked in some kind of silent, intense face-off, both of them smiling like they were in on some kind of inside joke that nobody else in the world would understand.
The neon lights above flickered slightly, casting a golden glow over her smooth skin, and for a brief moment, Hugo had a ridiculous thought.
Was this fate? Destiny? Had he just met his dream girl in a night club after getting publicly humiliated?
Would there come a day where he says; And this kids, is how I met your mother?
Nah. No way.
But then again…
Hugo squinted slightly at her, watching as her lips twitched like she was thinking the exact same thing he was thinking.
Yeah. This girl knew exactly what was going on here.
And that's when, out of nowhere, they both burst out laughing. Again.
Like, full-on, barking laughter, right there in the bar area, with no warning.
