Chapter 8.3: Moving Day
Boxes filled the halls of the Connecticut house, stacked high and labeled in neat handwriting. Movers bustled about, carrying Franclon's belongings to the truck outside, while he and his dad packed up the last of their things.
"Can you believe it, son?" Mr. Junior asked, looking around at the nearly empty house. "A new life in Bristol. Feels surreal, doesn't it?"
Franclon gave a small nod. Part of him was nervous about leaving Connecticut, especially the memories of his mom, who had once filled this place with warmth. But he'd come to realize that his dad needed this change, and, if he were honest, he did too.
"It'll be different, but… I think it's the right move," Franclon replied, glancing at his father.
Mr. Junior smiled, clapping a hand on his son's shoulder. "That's the spirit. And who knows? You might even like it more than here."
Lisa and her mom met them at the airport to say goodbye to Connecticut together and to prepare for their new chapter in Bristol. The flight was filled with quiet moments, shared glances, and occasional whispers between Lisa and Franclon. When they finally landed in Bristol, Mrs. Collen gave them both a warm smile.
"Welcome home."
