Tigers Walk Alone, Hyenas Move in Packs

Yu Xiaogang didn't pay much attention to Yun Feng. After all, there was no need to. After seeing Yun Feng's innate level-one soul power, he didn't even bother to check his martial soul further.

"A talent like this," he thought, "even if he attends the academy, he'll just be a useless waste."

After walking a short distance away, Yun Feng glanced back at Tang San and Yu Xiaogang. Just then, he overheard Yu Xiaogang's voice.

"The certificate from the Martial Soul Hall has your name. You're called Tang San, right?"

Tang San looked at Yu Xiaogang, puzzled, and responded, "Master, didn't I just say that?"

Watching from afar, Yun Feng couldn't help but mentally criticize the scene.

"Is this what they call the contraction of world lines?" he mused. "Even with such a twist, Tang San and Yu Xiaogang still ended up together."

He wondered why, despite Tang San's long years of experience in his past life, all that wisdom seemed to vanish after becoming a child. How could someone with such life experience fall for such simple wordplay?

Yun Feng lost interest in what was being said and stopped listening. He knew how it would all turn out anyway.

Shaking his head, Yun Feng moved on and headed toward the place Yu Xiaogang had directed him to for registration.

After wandering around for a bit, Yun Feng realized that while Yu Xiaogang's directions were generally correct, they were off by quite a bit. After asking a few students for directions, he finally made his way to the registrar's office.

Upon arriving at the registrar's office, Yun Feng quickly completed his registration with the help of a teacher. After receiving his allowance and his uniform, he learned that his accommodation would be the same as always—sharing with the work-study students.

Since Yun Feng had used up all his money paying for tuition, he had none left for accommodation fees. The only difference between him and the work-study students was that he didn't have to clean or do other chores.

After settling everything, Yun Feng was about to head back to the dormitory when he saw Yu Xiaogang, now holding Tang San's hand, arriving at the registrar's office.

Yun Feng was stunned. "Is their relationship warming up this fast?" he thought.

Still, thinking about his own system, Yun Feng slyly greeted Yu Xiaogang, congratulating him, "Greetings, Master!"

Yu Xiaogang glanced at Yun Feng, puffed out his chest slightly, looking quite pleased, and nodded before taking Tang San to register.

Tang San, seeing Yun Feng, wasn't surprised. He simply said, "Wait for me, I'll go back with you."

After all, they were from the same village, both had Blue Silver Grass as their martial soul, and Old Jack had shown both of them care. More importantly, Tang San didn't find this kid as annoying as others.

Yun Feng looked at Tang San and couldn't quite figure out what he was thinking, but he didn't antagonize him. Instead, he smiled in response.

At this stage, Yun Feng didn't have the strength or qualifications to do as he pleased, so it wasn't wise to make enemies.

Thanks to Yu Xiaogang's assistance, Tang San's registration didn't take long. However, when people saw the proof of Tang San's martial soul, they were visibly shocked and confused.

They couldn't understand how genius and waste could coexist in the same person.

And looking at Yu Xiaogang beside Tang San, their expressions were tinged with regret, though no one said anything out loud.

After all, Yu Xiaogang had been in the academy for years, doing nothing yet living comfortably. The most important fact was that he was friends with the headmaster—someone they couldn't afford to offend.

After completing the registration, Yu Xiaogang didn't accompany Tang San and Yun Feng to the dormitory. He gave Tang San a few simple instructions and then left.

Once Yu Xiaogang was gone, Yun Feng's curiosity got the better of him, and he asked, "Tang San, what were you and the Master talking about?"

Tang San smiled, then looked at Yun Feng seriously and replied, "Nothing much, he just took me in as his disciple."

After saying this, Tang San seemed to realize it might sound a bit off, so he added, "Don't worry, whatever basic knowledge the Master teaches me, I can share with you."

Yun Feng was at a loss for words, so he simply nodded.

He couldn't quite understand what Tang San was thinking, but deep down, Yun Feng did crave Yu Xiaogang's knowledge.

While Yu Xiaogang's theories were controversial and had misled many average soul masters, he was still very knowledgeable about certain aspects of the soul master world.

In short, you could question his research, but you couldn't question him as a "tailor of knowledge"!

Before long, Tang San and Yun Feng arrived at their dormitory, known as Dormitory Seven.

With no money for lodging, this was the only place they could stay.

Dormitory Seven was the work-study students' dorm and the worst of the seven dormitories at Nuoding Primary Soul Master Academy.

After all, the academy wasn't a charity. While the work-study students had their tuition reduced, they couldn't expect the same treatment as regular students.

Dormitory Seven was also the only mixed-age dormitory—work-study students of all ages lived together here.

When Yun Feng and Tang San walked in, they could feel everyone's eyes on them.

The other kids in the room all seemed older than Yun Feng and Tang San.

Unlike Tang San, who remained cold and aloof, Yun Feng smiled and took the initiative, introducing himself, "Hi everyone, my name is Yun Feng, I'm from Saint Soul Village. My martial soul is Blue Silver Grass, and I have innate level-one soul power!"

His friendly introduction caught the older kids off guard. They had planned to teach him the "rules," but upon hearing this, they were at a loss for words.

Innate level-one Blue Silver Grass? What was there to prove by picking on him? It would be too much of a stretch.

And if they did bully him, wouldn't they be no better than the noble kids who bullied them?

Besides, Yun Feng's small frame clearly wasn't built for fighting.

The tension eased, and the attention shifted away from Yun Feng.

Tang San, seeing Yun Feng's approach, followed suit and introduced himself, "Tang San, Blue Silver Grass, innate full soul power."

To ordinary kids, Tang San had no interest in saying more than necessary.

After all, tigers walk alone, while hyenas move in packs.

He didn't believe there was anything he could learn from these people.
