I smiled sadly; my mom was all the family I had. “Is it weird that I’m not crying?”, I asked. “No.”, Norah answered decisively. “You do what feels right for you and let no one tell you otherwise! I think you are already accepting that she is no longer with us. Mourning is a different process for all of us.” I nodded. She was right. Lily had a normal life, with a normal family, normal job and normal friends. Focused on her career, she made no time for boyfriends. Not that the right ones wanted her anyways... But after her mom's death she is stupified when she learns that she is now the proud owner of 2 houses in Europe and a million dollar trust fund. In Too Deep: a mafia story

I woke up to an insane loud banging on my door, but my eyes really did not want to open. I tried to lift my head off my pillow, and I groaned loudly, my head falling back down on my pillow. What the hell does who want from me at this ungodly early hour?! 


“Lily! We know you are in there! Open up!”, I heard a female voice shouting while the banging continued. It took my head too long to recognize Norah’s voice. I also knew she was not going to stop until I opened the door for her. So, groaning and with much effort, I swung my legs out of the bed. I marched to the door to open it, and without looking I went back to bed and crawled beneath the covers again. 


Unfortunately, Norah was right on my heels and immediately tore the covers from me again. “It is 2PM Lils, time to face the world and share the tea. Emma will be here in 10 minutes. So, if you want to take a shower, now is the time.”
