Zian Rou's arrival shook up the city. The High Prince had been expecting her arrival, and the fact that he now knew that her evil father was in the city was motivation enough for him to pull out all the stops in an attempt to please Zian Rou. 


Even though the High Prince had yet to regain his wits after what he had been forced to do for his survival, he still had enough sense not to anger the emperor even further. Though the emperor had promised that all their former enmity had been wiped out with what he had done to his family, the High Prince was still wary of the emperor. This was because, on this continent, the emperor was absolute. He was the heavens, and the earth bowed to his will. 


Even if he were to break his promise, there was no one for the High Prince to go crying to, and there was most definitely nothing he could do to the emperor.
