The Twins

"Come on in, I want to get something, really quick, and we'll be off," Mr. Nico proposed.

"Aye, Grandpa Nico!" I responded.

"You better don't make that a habit, you hear!" Why was he blushing, that Mr. Nico?

We went inside the mansion, and boy, was it a great one. I was struck by its grandeur. I don't know if my father used this place as inspiration to build our own mansion or was it Mr. Nico that got inspired? The place was truly worthy of being called a mansion. My mansion's theme color was black and some purple, just what you'll expect from a correctional center. But this mansion's theme color was white, gold, and red, mostly white.

We waited inside the living room for Mr. Nico. It turns out that Mr. Nico was part of the executives of the school. Oh, and the name of the school was Monitors Academy. Hmm... I have my suspicions, but if it gets me out of my prison, anything goes, I guess.

The red-eyed blonde darted towards me.

Great... I'm I going to get bullied now? Was this Theresa or Theophilus? If I asked now, the bullying might escalate. I recognized this was the one gesturing the cutthroat thing. But they shocked me with their next move.

"Hmph, you shrimp seem like you're gonna break from your own weight... I would let you hold my hands if you want."

Just say you want to hold my hands! I guess this one is the female?

I wondered if both of them were maybe females, so I glanced at the blue-eyed one, "...What? Twig?"

I don't get why I'm being called a twig here, though. We're all the same size.

But I still couldn't figure out who was Theresa or Theophilus. And I think asking would put me in jeopardy, so let's not. First, I'll just hold her hands to prevent bloodshed, my blood, that is.

The red-eyed blonde kept holding my hand until Mr. Nico came back.

"Oh? What, what? Have you guys become friends already?" Mr. Nico exclaimed in surprise.

Eh? I-if he wanted, I would like to-

"Don't be silly! Miss lady(?) here was just helping me with support, you know, so that I dont get crushed by my own weight." I retorted.

If I had said anything that made it look flirty, I definitely would have taken a punch, no doubt. But was she/ he going to say something there?

I glanced at the red-eyed blonde to see if I did well.

Result: impeccable! She/he had a surprised look on her/his face,

"Hmph!" they said, looked away, and threw my hands off theirs. Phew! I guess I live to see another day.

Honestly, I should read more books on women; my mother and these twins make it seem like one's life may be at risk if they deal with women nonchalantly. And was she/ he angry at the end? I couldnt tell.

Mr. Nico, in the living room, threw another crystal on the ground, and it created a doorway.

"This doorway probably leads to the airport or something, right?!" I exclaimed loudly.

"Hm? Did you want to take that route? Its such a pain; lets use this portal." Mr. Nico shattered half of my hopes and dreams.

***

How disappointing! I'm in front of the school gates!!!

I saw the school name engraved, artistically, on a fairly large rock.

"Monitors Academy."

Tch! I really hoped to gaze at people and scenes and landscapes on the way here, but Grandpa Nico just made it feel like I got cheated!

And can his grandchild stop holding my hands now?! When did they even get to hold it again?

Well... They say when one door closes, another opens; I might find something good here, who knows.

Now that I look carefully, some other people are moving around. My age, and even older. I guess it was a mix school of both elementary, high school, and college. I thought people would be freaked out when we come out of a portal, but everyone was chill. So Im not weird for not freaking out initially too, right?

Now, lets see how I interact with the people here.

"Let's take a look around, okay?" Grandpa Nico proposed.

That brat, still holding my hand, said, "Let's go, shrimp!" And dragged me in, following Mr. Nico at his back. I don't remember making her/him my boss, though. But so that peace will reign, I should probably behave and just follow.

Compared to the schools I see in the movies and animes I submerge myself in, this one was considerably large. It looked like it had everything a school had.

Hm! I guess I'm enjoying myself, after all...! Can this little child stop dragging me so quickly?

"I wanna pee, wait here, okay?" My self-appointed boss ordered me. But of course, I followed her. It ended in pain, though.

"Pervert! Despicable! I said you should wait for me, why are you following me into the girls' toilet!"

Who is teaching this 6-yr-old such words? And how did she even know I was tailing her? Don't look at me like that! I wanted to see if she/he would enter a boys' toilet or a girls' toilet. I got the data regardless.

She pinned me in a Judo move, holding my arm with both her hands and legs and twisting it in a direction it shouldn't normally go.

It was painful, yes. But as I looked up her baggie uniform shorts, I saw it.

Ahem, Panties! Well, it could be a weird boy who wears girls' panties, but that's unlikely. I think I'll consider her a girl now. I mentally checked the "girl" box, finally resolving the mystery. I guess the other one is Theophilus.

"And please, I'm sorry! Stop hurting me!" I pleaded to no avail.

Theophilus, that brat, just stared blankly at me as I writhe in a world of pain.

"As expected from a twig, break off the arm, sister," he said.

What an emotionless fella.

Anyways, I was eventually released from Theresa's tiger grip of pain and sorrow. When I asked her how she knew I was following her, she said,

"Huh? Didn't your parents teach you basic energy detection?"

Energy te nani? My parents had tried to teach me many things, but I found them too complex and dull, so I often escaped. Theresa's words are making me feel like there's a missing link in my fundamentals.

"Goodness! I guess you really do need my protection, after all, You Shrimp!" Theresa said after realizing I don't know anything about energy detection.

Again, who teaches these words to a 6-yr-old? Or was I the one who didn't have common sense? Actually, I'm a 6-yr-old too, so...

"Geez, where have you all been? I've been looking for you guys," Mr. Nico emerged.

"Let me show you to your classes. Behave yourselves, okay? Especially you, Theresa!"

"Hah? I am always at my best behavior!"

What a delinquent, you were tearing my arm off, a while ago! I have to stay away from her, for my well-being.

He then allocated us to our classes. Apparently, we'll be starting at grade 1 in the Monitors Academy.

"The school uses a curriculum that is similar to what normal schools use," Mr. Nico said, not like I completely got what he meant. Why wouldn't it have the same curriculum as most schools? Are we not on earth?

As I was about to enter my own class, Theresa voiced, "Uhm... S-shrimp!"

Oh god! Would it kill her to call me by my name?

"If you are done with school work, wait for me at the entrance gate, okay? Don't you dare go home by yourself!"

I'm being threatened, now! Of course, I'll rather die than become her punching bag, but I feel like I'll discover more judo tricks from her if I disobey, so let's docilely wait for her when class is dismissed, okay?

With that, the twins and their grandfather left me, and I stepped into a new domain, my classroom.
