IMPATIENCE

"Takara, hey, hi. This is Lelouch. I know you must be busy grinding on some floor right now, but I'm about to pause this game temporarily. What if I picked you up from your place, so we could have some offline fun and get to know each other in person?"

Noctis sent a quick voice message to Takara in the Elite Players Corner of the Lobby.

Whew. I'm beat. Clearing the subquests on the 10th floor of this stage took me some time to complete. I'm not the avid gamer that my sister is, as I'm completely new to this gaming scene. I'll sit down for a few minutes, refresh myself, and check any notifications and messages I might have missed.

Takara, still exhausted from clearing the entire 10th floor of the Novice Stage, went straight to her inventory, took out a customized sleek, fashionable, and elegant light green folding chair, and a customized elegant light green folding table that came along with it.

That chair and that table cost me around 100,000 gems to buy. A good thing is that both the chair and the table have a high durability.

The folding chair unfolded itself, and placed itself on the center of the rich, green, grassy and flat fields, the exact spot on which Takara is standing.

The elegant folding table also unfolded itself, and placed itself right next to the folding chair.

Such beautiful and calming scenery, to have hidden all those dangerous packs of lions that I had eliminated earlier. Oh well. beauty often hides the true danger lurking beneath. I'm not surprised at all.

Takara sat down, then surveyed the place, admiring the entire view.

She took out double servings of a chicken cheeseburger, and soft drinks from the inventory.

A good thing I upgraded my inventory to God-Class, and maxed out the exact number of things I can store in the inventory, so foods and drinks placed there will never spoil, and it will still be as good as new when I just bought the foods and drinks at the Elite Players Market. These chicken burgers are still hot to the touch, and the soft drinks are still ice-cold. Another advantage of a maxed out God-Class inventory is I have enough storage for a lot of items.

She was so famished and tired that she finished eating and drinking the burgers and soft drinks in a few minutes.

A light breeze rifled past her hair.

After she finished eating and drinking, she placed her legs on top of top of the folding table, and proceeded to check the system notifications and in-game messages.

A pity the game developers of VRMMORPG Fantasion didn't invent some program that would allow me to convert all this in-game cash unto real world money. I sure could use some extra cash right now. My sister is too stingy, and I'm broke. At least I can buy God-class weapons in-game, and sell them to some gaming item collectors or even auction them off at gaming conventions for a shockingly high price, after I had those weapons and defense items recreated in the real world through 3D printing technology. And I get to earn money after I finish main quests and sub-quests.

Takara closed the system notifications, and checked her in-game messages.

She listened to the voice message left by Noctis.

When she attempted to video-call Noctis in-game, Noctis has already paused the game temporarily.

Lelouch is really the exact opposite of his brother. Satsuki was a patient man, but Lelouch will not even wait for me to finish grinding.

"Sure, Lelouch. My real world information is in my account section. But I'm still tired from clearing the entire 10th floor. Can you at least give me some time to refresh, change clothes and eat before meeting up with you? I'm in no fit state to meet with you right now. "

What's taking Takara so long? Her elite sister can even move and prepare faster than her. I'm getting fed up with waiting in her nice and simple dining room. I anticipated that she'd be tired from grinding up some floors, so I took it upon myself to cook ourselves a filling meal of hot and spicy seafood ramen noodles, with deveined and cleaned shrimp swimming on the soup, paired with chilled Domaine Leflaive Montrachet Grand Cru wine that I thought to buy beforehand, as a gift to Takara.

Noctis impatiently sat down in the dining room of Takara, tapped on his smartphone, and went to the Official Forum website of VRMMORPG Fantasion.

He found himself watching a prerecorded video of himself beating up Joe Franco, with the headlines of Breaking News: A New and Mysterious Elite Player rescued a female player from the clutches of a certain Guild Leader.

He looked at the number of views, shares, likes and comments.

It had over 3 million views. 2 million shares and likes, and and a hundred thousand comments.

He skipped the video and went straight to the comments section.

He read the first top comment in the comment section.

User Minamoto: So that haughty and shameless bully of a Guild Leader finally found his match. He got humiliated instead. Lol.

He quickly closed the forum website in disgust , and watched a gaming anime instead on Metflix.

Blahblahblah. What a whole load of bullshit. The person who posted this is just outright using me to instantly get trending and get famous. I don't see why I should expose myself and waste time commenting in that rubbish post. Having my dad delete this post is next to useless. It's like drinking a sweet cup of cold milk laced with honey, and expecting the flies to stay away. Let these flies do what they want. I'll just ignore them completely, and do what I have to do. The Necromancer Guild will eventually know I joined the game already, anyway. A little publicity won't hurt.

" Takara, I'm already waiting in your dining room, you old turtle. I even cooked a simple but filling meal for the both of us, so all you need to do is bathe, put on presentable clothes, sit down, and eat. So hurry up, pause the game, and get down into the dining room before I decide to go somewhere else."

"Give me a few more minutes, Lelouch. I'm currently reading a message sent by Joe Franco."

"What does it say Takara? If he gloated that he bullied someone again, and disrespects you again, I'll kill him for good."

" You shouldn't be so hasty at jumping to conclusions, Lelouch. He said he's sorry for all he did to me, and would like to mend his ways by offering to spy on the Necromancer Guild for you as his small way of making amends. "

That took Noctis aback.

Joe Franco is one brave hell of a man. Risking his neck for a random stranger whom he only knew as the brother of an elite assassin player who got murdered by treachery. But at the end of the day, all of us players are risking our necks when we decide to create an account in VRMMORPG Fantasion, whether the player chose to be an elite player or not at all. If it becomes known to the Guild Leader of the Necromancer Guild and the allies of the Necromancer Guild that Joe sold their secrets, they will hunt him to the ends of the earth, give him a hard time, and eliminate him, or be eliminated to the last man standing. I'll give him my backing. That should give him an advantage, at least. I'm a man with a lot of guts and a fierce spirit, so what Joe Franco offered is admirable. At least, he learned his lesson not to mess with the wrong people. I'll accept his offer.

Takara temporarily paused VRMMORPG Fantasion after the game autosaved her progress.

Takara climbed out of the gaming capsule, and unplugged the gaming capsule.

She looked at herself in the mirror on the wall of her gaming room.

I look like a mess. My hair is frazzled.

Takara left the gaming room, locked the door to her gaming room, went straight to her bathroom, undressed, threw her soiled clothes into the clothes basket, and had a quick bath.
